Go with 1:10, your life will be much easier.

Your choice of barrel type will determine which type of bolt and gas system you must use. Armalite (AR10) and DPMS(SR25/LR308/etc etc) have their own proprietary bolt and gas systems, so it's practical to factor that into your barrel buying decision. I myself am very happy with an 18.5 mid-weight profile 1:10 twist barrel from Fulton Armory, it has done very well with everything I've run through it, but the heavier the bullet, the better it performs.

That's not necessarily true. I'm running a 1:10 twist that works really well with the lighter rounds at close range and I can still rely on my heavier rounds at long range, and of course heavier rounds also do well at shorter ranges too, but only the slower twist will help the light rounds at significant distances, which isn't really practical anyways unless you want a varmint gun.

Steeper twists will stabilize your heavier loads better, a more shallow twist will be less stable with the heavier bullets. As to which pattern, I was referring to DPMS(SR25 style) vs. Armalite(AR10 style) pattern. <thumbsup>

I'd personally go with Krieger, but I have a business related bias against LW, so take it for what it's worth.... ;)

Very lucky on your part. Residential techs usually get stuck with the worst two sides of a home to work in: The top, and the bottom. Neither are worth a flying fish turd 99.9% of the time.

I feel your pain brother. I've staggered out of so many 130 degree attics, dripping wet from head to toe, nearly dehydrated and drooling uncontrollably, and covered in that crappy old blown insulation. Needless to say, I don't miss it at all.
