  1. Exactly. ANY device that serves to attenuate the report of a firearm (no matter how substantially or insubstantially) is considered to be a suppressor by Federal law. That is why you will find no devices outside of an actual suppressor that serve to reduce the muzzle report.
  2. Heck, had I known it was that easy, I would've done that a LONG time ago.... >:D
  3. I see you've gone to the dark side... *shakes head*
  4. My mom has pictures of me holding one of Dad's rifles @ 3 years old. I wasn't shooting at that age, but I was certainly learning gun safety. Point is, shooting can come later, gun safety can be learned yesterday. ;)
  5. Ditto. I'm covered for stealage, and I memorize my tag number. As soon as he walks the other way I'm on the phone with the police giving my tag number, vehicle description, and my current location.
  6. Anything is possible, but it's probably better to log a few hours in the simulator before attempting the real deal in the cockpit. I'm just sayin'....
  7. Not going to do anything I haven't already done. That waste of a chance to pull out we have sitting in the White House isn't the law of the land, he can take a long walk down a short pier.
  8. Don't be too hasty, he may have never roped a deer... We can't make a determination until we know if he's roped a deer. If he has, he's a shoe-in!
  9. Wish I had something for you on the muzzle report brother, but it's a .308 and that muzzle will never ease up on your ears without some hearing protection or the aforementioned suppressor, even without a muzzle device you would still be hurting your hearing. Take care of those things brother, your hearing never recovers.
  10. Right on, there needs to be an intermediate step... No point in throwing him into the .50 BMG right away.
  11. I'm going to have to get a business license 'cause these gals have made me dispense more protein than GNC has this year....
  12. I refuse to invest any more anger in the whole situation. If they are going to disregard the very foundations of the law (Constitution), they are hypocrites to expect obedience to their abuse of power.
  13. I'll just put it this way, by the time you could percieve her as good looking, it wouldn't be legal to drive her anyplace.
  14. That's good fire discipline exemplified! ^^^
  15. <nutkick> :gtfo2: Just kidding... but come on, just Pmags keep you holding on? Wow! :soap:
  16. What goes around comes around, I wouldn't want to trade places with him for anything.
  17. The Geissele folks are well represented, so I'm going to preach from the other side of the aisle and recommend a PACT SR Gold.... Not that you can go wrong with either one....
  18. Best thing you can do for the wait is forget you ever ordered it. When it shows up on your doorstep, you'll be thrilled!
  19. The simplest way I can describe it is that it is the American version of the Mauser, chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. If all the parts are original and are a serial match, it's worth a good bit. If it's a mix & match beater, has more than 2 lands & grooves in the barrel, is drilled & tapped for a scope, it's probably a mutt and not worth too much.
  20. I quote from the following page: http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/firearms-technology.html#commercial-parts-assembly So if you've ever held a Concealed Carry Permit, your fingerprints are in the national database. If it were to ever be stolen, you might have a difficult time reclaiming it. If it is used in a crime and your fingerprints are found on an unserialized weapon, the doodoo would get mighty deep.
  21. Is this true for every state? The reason I gave my answer as I did, was because the OP wanted to know about registration. There is no such thing for an unserialized firearm.
  22. Building a rifle from an 80% lower still has to have approval from the BATFE, when you've done your paperwork correctly and gotten approval, your rifle is then effectively registered once it meets BATFE requirements as far as being serialized and all that.
  23. My dad passed the same thing along to me, it will not be dead until I am. <thumbsup>
  24. Tomorrow (Saturday, 7/24/13) anti-gun idiots all over the US are planning to abandon the Starbucks franchise for a single day to make a point about their decision to allow customers open and concealed carry on their property in permitting states: Link If you enjoy coffey or anything Starbucks carries, you can show your appreciation for their stance by joining myself and other gun owners across the nation by walking into your local Starbucks and buying yourself something you'll enjoy. Be sure to let them know at the counter that you appreciate their stance and are acting accordingly. Nothing could make me happier than Starbucks having a record income spike on 7/24/13.
  25. The only thick skin you'll be needing is whatever animal hide your wallet is made of.... If it's not thicker than Tom's own hide, you are screwed... Come to think of it, you're probably screwed anyways, but we let the new guys enjoy a false sense of hope for a brief period....
