  1. Welcome from NC! Make yourself right at home....
  2. Welcome from North Carolina
  3. I shot suppressed and unsuppressed at long range for years with standard recoil system components, ie. what has already been recommended to you. You're overthinking this just a bit. The only change I've made with regards to that was an adjustable gas block to rebalance the gas forward/gas rearward ratio. Do a standard Armalite buffer/tube/spring combo and be done with it until you have the experience needed to understand the nature of the modifications that will perfect it.
  4. No problem, if it doesn't fix your problem or at least work better, I'll buy it from you and pay the shipping. I can use it for a spare if it doesn't help you.
  5. Here's what I've been using in my Mega Arms for almost 10 years now.... http://www.davidtubb.com/bufferspring-sr-ar10
  6. BCG isn't your problem. It's good kit. The mag issue is telling the story on what's happening here. The right recoil spring will send the BCG into battery regardless of how full the mag is. This could also account for part of the feeding problem. Don't change more than one component at a time, you'll quickly get lost as to what's actually the component at fault.
  7. You're well within the margin of error. It's possible your chamber is slightly tight and could just do with a bit of light polishing. The double feed is entirely a magazine issue, not hard to fix that. My money is on your recoil spring.
  8. The good news is that 95% of your kit is really good kit. At most a spring, buffer, or gas port upsizing will get you sorted out. You're probably close enough to me we could get together and work through it.
  9. Suppressor weight and overall suppressor effectiveness will also factor into the equation. A very effective suppressor will capture enough gas to drastically reduce muzzle rise, but also sends more gas to the receiver area. A heavier suppressor will not only reduce muzzle rise, but also tame the effect of the extra gas to the recoil system.
  10. Welcome from near Hickory, NC.
  11. That's with Red Bull in your coffee and your eyes closed too.
  12. If it's already ordered, try it out and see what you get. If nothing else, it may benefit someone else who is thinking of going the same route. The Fulton Armory barrel has proven to be an exceptional barrel for the better part of a decade in my own experience, along with others here, at every distance from arms reach to 1000 yards and slightly beyond.
  13. I would be hurt if you didn't.
  14. If the requirements are just that it shoots and cycles, a Bear Creek barrel might be sufficient. However, you could instead buy the Fulton Armory barrel that was 1st recommended to you and there would be no need to upgrade it until it wears out. Then you aren't buying multiple barrels and there's no question of quality or pickiness concerning ammo.
  15. I don't assume gender, I establish gender.
  16. Of course... Thus the price vs. cost maxim.
  17. Welcome, and thank you for your service.
  18. We're partly busting your balls, cause we do that a bit from time to time.... But in all seriousness, I don't get your reasoning. The barrel is the heart and soul of a rifle, if you care enough about the effectiveness of your build to contemplate JP components, why are you cheaping out on the barrel? It makes no sense to me.
  19. Yikes, poor dude is a having to be held up by the hot chick....
  20. Oh that's going to be a real dilemma; NcStar, BSA, Mueller, or Osprey?
  21. This is a great point, probably especially noticable in unsupported firing positions. I would think supported firing would mitigate this almost if not completely.
  22. Of course not, that would be illogical. 🙄
