  1. Buffing isn't going to take off NiB... unless you're running it on a coarse wheel with a heavy abrasive. Even then, I'm sure you'd know if you went too far. I worked a NiB upper receiver with some 000 steel wool and never worried about it.
  2. It's not that tough. You have to clear coat over it. Duracoat and Cerakote have clear sprays that work great. The clear coat will allow you to choose from matte, satin or gloss finish.
  3. Kryptek has their "Nomad" pattern. Kinda snake-like and camo.
  4. The only two reputable companies I'm aware of, that do spiral fluting, are BHW and LWRCi. If the fluting is that important to you, buy any bbl then send it to Adco for the makeover.
  5. So I've been seriously debated on getting out of my 300Blk build. I just never shoot it. Since I don't reload, it's just too costly to feed. I only hunt with my .308 rifles's. For plinking I have unlimited 5.56 at my disposal. For a cheap alternative, I have a 7.62x39 nearing completion. There's just no room in my shooting for the Blackout. If I had the ability to buy a suppressor, I could've at least gone that route... Damn California!!! Don't be surprised if you see a barrel assembly pop up soon.
  6. That's an understatement... that rifle is fukin Sexy! Ps. Tell Ryan to give me that scope.
  7. Another beauty.
  8. That's pretty sweet. Magpul is such a boat anchor. I'm glad more quality is coming from other companies. I'm surprised MFT hasn't made a similar stock yet.
  9. SLR surely has the most positive reviews if you look around.
  10. Fulton Armory 18.5" barrel NEMO 18.5" Barrel And I think Mega has an 18 or 18.5 now too
  11. Fwiw... I went over a year without cleaning my DI .308AR. That included my trip to AZ, and several hundred rounds of ammo.. Just shoot and put away. Never had a FTE/FTF. Never used a drop of lube either! Use good parts and you should be good to go.
  12. A lightweight 16" bbl has the same stiffness as a 20" heavy barrel. It's that whole concept of, "how many times can you break a stick in half?"
  13. Heavy barrels were designed for machine guns. How many of your favorite deer rifles have bull barrels? The heavy barrels are for strings of fire, not for 1 to 3 shots at a buck. A light to med profile bbl will be near as accurate on a cold shot as a hvy to bull bbl.
  14. Since this is intended to be a target/hunting rifle... • Ditch the 20" for a lightweight 16" • Use the complete JP LMOS; BCG, Silent Captured Buffer and Adj GB • the JP "Tank Brake" is the most effective brake on the market. • ditch the boat anchor UBR and look into an Ace ARFX stock... it'll save you 2 lbs. • Lancer makes a low profile carbon fiber tube. I'm pretty sure they make the length you're looking for. It'll save you a lot of weight and make your rifle look nice too. • if you plan on using a scope, take a look at the MecharmorDefense "TacOps-1" charging handle. If you hurry and order, you might be able to grab their special price still.
  15. Yes you can. My brotherinlaw sent his to be repaired before he swapped me for my old eotech 512.
  16. Fix was perfect. It's a million times stronger than that CMMG piece of crap. I won't even return the CMMG because I'm afraid they'll try to replace it. This .22lr is a hellofa shooter too. BubbaSKS can attest to it. I was standing and ringing steel just over 100 yards away. My wife easily has 100+ squirrels under the hammer.
  17. I stand corrected.
  18. I did near the exact same thing at near the same age with an Ingram mac 11... minus the dead instructor... Probably the last time she ever pulls a trigger. That's too bad.
  19. Great color match. FDE doesn't always come out even half this nice.
  20. Thanks MG. I was debated on the Sig or one of the HK models... that Umarex cheap metal kills it for me. You have to be careful attaching real parts on them. Even aluminum will crush those zinc parts. The Taccom3g parts are all steel and all NiB coated. It cleans so easy and fast, I don't have issues cleaning in between mag swaps. I still have yet to grab those new mags. The biggest bonus to my wife's AR, she can swap with ANY of my various uppers anytime she wants.
  21. Does this have a BFH or Standard barrel?
  22. Tom used to live near the "Dusk till Dawn"... true story. I saw it.
  23. Rob is a very strong name.... I'm just sayin'.
  24. AXTS just announced that they were releasing the Raptor (both sizes) with their own brand on it. It looks like the Rainier contract is near expiration???
  25. Let's see if they appeal it...
