HP's were taken out because MD's couldn't repair the wounds. They said HP wounds caused too much mayhem, not necessarily designed to kill. I think RoW's are BS. The enemy doesn't care and blows off the arms and legs of our soldiers on a regular basis. If we didn't have RoW's we would've ended a lot of conflicts a Loooooong time ago. Chemical, biological and germ warfare are all off the table thanks to soft bleeding hearts who don't understand why we go to war.

It's just a "new" Kimber BP 10... and we saw how well that went. I'm holding out to see if the Sig P320 will be a higher capacity than 10. The FNX45 seems like a great choice, but I'm a little iffy about the reputation. I want a HIGH capacity handgun. I heard there is a +3 or +4 mag coming for the FNX45... I don't have NATO ammo restrictions, so if all else fails I'll be back to the idea of a P226 9mm with its 20rd mags.

Pachmayr and Hogue makes a sleeve for automatic grips. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work on an AR grip

I mentioned earlier about "staying put" and some took that as I was staying in my house... Quite on the contrary. I have picked out several locations within a short walk or driving distance, that can be quickly occupied and fortified. The facilities will accommodate all the people I need and then some. Most residences don't have the capability to be "fortified". I'm talking about limited roadway access, fences, and controlled entry amongst. Then you have to take into account living arrangements for however many people you include... you can't do it alone. Places like hotels and churches are great. The older the better. The really old ones likely have facilities that won't rely on modern technology. Just think of how many people you will need to keep and control the larger facilities. Size and population are a delicate balance. Being that I live in a fairly old city (nothing compared to the east coast guys) I've picked out some prime locations. They can be fortified. They are centrally located to resources. They can withstand an extended occupation. Just my $0.02

at the risk of sounding like a fan boy... The Sig P226 is a proven war tool. Quality, Reliability, Durability and Capacity. The new P227 or the P320 would both be more viable options

A B.O.B. will only work if you have a plan. You need a fluid plan, that is constantly updated. You won't be able to do it all alone, so make sure you have the appropriate people listed in your plan as well. I live in the outskirts suburb of a metropolis, home to about 2.5mil people. While making my way to the hills sounds good in theory, I realized my locale is actually better than I first imagined. I live less than a 1/4 mile from two major waterways, on the edge of miles of rice fields and walking distance to several other resources. I have already recon'd a few locations and have a small plan prepared. I think I'm safer if I stay right where I am. Better to be a lion surrounded by lamb, than a lion surrounded by other lions.

I'm with SS. Lighter is better. My 5.11 bag will hold just enough to get me by. My plan is to move fast, recon, occupy and fortify. My bag carries essentials, but can be dropped fast. I also believe in load bearing vests. No reason to have your ammo all packed away.

I didn't mean to be... they just keep making great stuff. Lol.

I picked this up for my wife the other day. She's been begging for a new EDC for years. She originally wanted the Kimber Solo, but I wasn't impressed with its reviews. Almost went for the new Colt Mustang.... but when Sig released this, I couldn't resist. She made sure to point it out at every gun show we attended. Sig P938 "Scorpion" 9mm I scored on the Sig rebate too. Just sent out for two free extra mags ($45 ea) and a pistol case.

What size projectile are they?

Maybe we need to host a YouTube channel? Then we just make "How to" videos.

He's got a point. I assumed you had already shot long distance and we're looking to hone your rough edges... get out there a brake her in. You might be surprised what she can do "as is".
-
Best way to reduce recoil is a good muzzle brake. Since you want a suppressor in the future, look at AAC or Surefire brakes. A heavy buffer, from heavybuffers.com, coupled with an AR-10 spring, will soften the recoil some. If you have a PRS stock installed, you are using the only buffer tube you need. There's really no way to reinforce it as it is.

Best Buttstock for Butt Stroking????

I recant my last submission... I got to looking into my "box-o-shiit" and found an old Colt CAR stock.... not the cheapo plastic one, but the all metal version. When you have to crush the skull of a disorderly insurrectionist, accept no substitute. -
I've always been a fan of the R25. You shouldn't have to do much. I'll bet it'll hit 1k yards as is. 1. A new match trigger would benefit you greatly. 2. Don't buy a new barrel. Just get your current barrel threaded, and add a decent brake. 3. Load her up and fling some lead.

Make sure others know about this. I'd hate to hear about people missing out on this opportunity.

Close range, shooting 7.62x39 FMJ, will just make little in-n-out holes. They don't even bleed that much. Especially if the just hit soft tissue. That's the beauty of dirt bags, they never load up with hydro shock, or gold dot, or Ranger ammo... they always buy the cheap FMJ ball ammo that's on sale. A few years ago, my buddy was shot outside of a club. As fast as he could, he got back to his feet and ran inside. When he was checking for wounds, he found the FMJ .25 Auto stuck in his leather belt and a bruise on his hip... CSI said he was weird that he even got hit. They said the shooter was one of the worst shots they'd ever investigated. They found bullet marks/holes from the sidewalk up to the sign above the club. They think it was just pass poor luck that he was hit... I told him it was because his fat a$$ was the biggest thing outside!

High speed, low drag.

I'm cheaper... I throw 'em on the backseat and cover 'em with a jacket.

I don't think quality is prone to any failure... I think there's a shitt ton of picatinny real estate on most rifles and some guys thought, "hey, you know what else will fit on here?" Then they made a logical excuse for their double-optic setup. I'm not dinging the 45° sight set up. I actually like it and have considered it myself. I'm just saying, don't put more into it than what they were designed for. If you want BUIS incase your optics fail, get them. If you want 45° off set sights so you can transition to CQB range targets, get them. Hell, you could buy a 45° picatinny mount and then put BUIS on them... You wouldn't use a 9v in your cell phone, and you wouldn't use a cellphone battery in smoke detector. Just because they have a similar use, doesn't mean they have the same job.

You guys better buy 2 or 3. You never know when a deal like this will pop up again. In other news... Mecharmor Defense recently sent a shipment of their charging handles to Brazil. If I understood right, they are headed down with a shipment from Colt to reoutfit the Brazilian military in preparation for 2016 Olympics. Not to mention, but I believe POF rifles now comes standard with a TacOps-1.

I've been shooting similar through a 45-70 for years. All the ones I've shot used candle wax to seal.

Just got off the horn with the awesome guys at Mecharmor Defense. First off let me say again, what a great community we have here. You all are recognized by the industry, as being a strong and knowledgeable group.... well, except Tom who's the Dick of the month still. Lol The fine gentlemen at Mecharmor Defense have offered all of the TacOps-1 charging handles for $45.00 (+shipping) through July 2014. I confirmed this is the price for the AR-15 version, the AR-15 CQB version and the .308 version... personally, being the owner of all three models I can attest, you cannot go wrong here. ***NEW*** DIRECT LINK Go HERE for the current sale price. If you haven't seen the ongoing group buy then you need to get on this ASAP. Do your homework and check out my epic review as well. This is already becoming a standard upgraded part in many tier 1 rifles, such as the new POF and Colt rifles. Treat yourself to something nice for the celebration of our independence!

I put one on mine a few months ago. I like the feature... but I don't like that it takes up real estate inside my trigger guard. My finger touches the trigger and the BAD at the same time. It gets annoying real fast. I'm also worried I'll engage the bolt catch mid string of fire. I'm going to try changing my trigger first. I currently have a CMC flat trigger installed. I think a standard bowed trigger will help with clearance.
