  1. <---- green with envy.
  2. Very nice... Although I was really hoping to see something rare, like a brand new SF Triple Tap
  3. The only part is worry about is the bolt face. I'd hate to lose head space due to coating.
  4. Personally, I would LOVE to have a TiN coated firing pin on my 7.62x39 build. My dumbass got the MGI enhanced bolt, with the extra wide tip firing pin. I'd love to score a new pin and send it somewhere to get TiN'd
  5. You don't need all that stuff. You can use a gas tube the same way you use a barrel nut alignment gauge. The lower receiver doesn't need a block. There's no reason to put it in a vice. You don't need a special tool for the detent pins. A small punch or even a large paper clip, and some patience, will work just fine. A barrel nut wrench is a must have for all builders. The rest of the rifle can be completed with regular tools, ie crescent/box/allen wrenches and screw drivers.
  6. I haven't forgotten, I'm still working on the TiN contact. I've been out of touch with him since last year.
  7. If I were to recommend a full length fixed stock, I'd toss my vote for the RRA Operator A2 stock. Maybe the VLTOR A2 Mod Stock as a second. Magpul makes great stuff, and I own lots of their parts, but they're all pretty heavy.
  8. I just use Fry's for price matching when I'm at bestbuy. For online shopping, NewEgg.com can have some great deals
  9. That's got to be a typo. The threads are 5/8" (.625) already. You can see by the picture that the gas block is sizably larger than the threads. I'll bet my shirt that the gas block is .750
  10. Ps. I had the ACE ARFX on my .308 up until recently. I swapped it for the ACE ARFX-E and added the LAW Tactical folding stock adapter. I lost about 3" LOP in the swap, but gained about half that back by adding the adapter. It now fits me perfectly.
  11. The "shoots softer" argument is never proven. A carbine stock, with a heavy buffer, will shoot lighter than a stock rifle length buffer system. Using a short fixed stock uses the same buffer system as a collapsible stock. If your just interested in a fixed short stock, your options are a bit limited. The A2 Shorty Fixed stock http://www.dsarms.com/A2-Shorty-Fixed-Stock-Black-----MALESTK/productinfo/MALESTK/ The ACE ARFX-Entry http://riflestocks.com/store/product94.html Both of those stocks are fixed length, with carbine length buffer systems.
  12. I know SurvivalShop has one. I think Jgun has one too. If I start another build it is the ONLY barrel I would choose. I wanted one for my last build, but they went extinct as soon as I started building. FA said the barrel was discontinued by the mfg. I remember cussing the guys that already had theirs. I ended up with a carbon fiber 17" with rifle length gas. At the end of 2012 I saw FA was selling them again as a regular item. I am very jealous of the guys that have theirs.
  13. I'm lazy. I have Fry's and Bestbuy nearby. I loved when Bestbuy had price matching +10%
  14. Next, the govt is going to put a regulation to how many talons your bird has. No more high capacity assault raptors.
  15. Despite multiple attempts, it is not a scratch-n-sniff pic
  16. I have a few of the Magpul slings (MS2 and MS3-QD) for my smaller rifles. I have been HEAVILY contemplating the Blueforce/Vickers Padded Sling for my .308 The project is never ending
  17. Brownells had 18" HBAR barrels made by NEMO arms. They can still be back ordered at a VERY affordable price. I ordered one a while back for a buddy. The specs look really good, but I haven't seen it shot yet.
  18. Haha, I'm sharing this
  19. For some sick reason I'm liking the idea of a 14.5" with a 15" handguard. I'm looking at a build right now, 11" barrel with a 12" tube. Kinda like the War Sport "LVOA"
  20. I put a rifle length handguard on a 14.5" 300Blk barrel. You have to get creative with your faux front block. There's not enough room for a standard sight, at least not without modifications. You could use the same flip sight 98 posted for his Dissy build. You'd just have to cut the block in half, so it'll have only one attachment point (instead of two) That gas block is made by PRI. I have a buddy with a mill who modified it for me.
  21. Hey Drew. What if you cut a dowel to fit the space inside the stock, behind the buffer tube? Then put a plug at your desired length. Then the stock wouldn't be able to close (because I the dowel), nor would it be able to extend (because of the stopper). Or does that not qualify as "fixed"??
  22. Chris is a good guy! He helped me out considerably. Like I said, trust in SI-D. Perfection takes time, this will all be worth it in the end.
  23. @BLKSHEEP, I was with a pinoy girl for years (a lifetime ago). I know you're not knockin' the lumpia, pancit, and adobo. Never had the dried fish, but the other dishes were awesome.
  24. I was out at the Hangtown motoX races. Met a guy showing his sand rail. He was running an LS7 motor (from a Z06) in there at around 600hp. The effin beast had over 40" of travel at each wheel. I took his word for it. That machine was monstrous.
