13.7” Dissipator!! Getting back in Black... out
Robocop1051 replied to Robocop1051's topic in 300 AAC Blackout
I had to mill the fuck out of that rail to clear that fat KX5. I’m glad it wasn’t the much fatter KX3. I got a wild hair up my ass... tapped the gas port in the faux gasblock to 10-24... blue loctite and a 1/2” bolt... that handguard cap isn’t budging I plugged that SOB together... This bitch is done and ready for the final weld on the blind pin.... 13.7” 300Blk (16.2” OAL)!!! total price for upper... less than a 13.7” Noveske Barrel. -
Just a bit of warning, so if the news is bad, it doesn’t completely crush you. They might not make match receiver sets. If that is the case, there are things we can do to tighten up your receiver, if that’s a process that you want to go through. When I make a receiver set, the two are machined together. That set is never separated after machining. I later install four rubber bumpers in the corners of the receivers to further secure the set so there is absolutely no chance of wobble.

Boot, I own a gun mfg company. A lower and upper SHOULD be mated before the takedown/pivot pins are drilled. Then the pin holes are drilled with the parts together. This guarantees a mated set. This is how I do all my rifles. If you don’t want to hassle with it, you can buy that cheap rubber plug to install. It works well enough.

13.7” Dissipator!! Getting back in Black... out

I’m cutting it again to fit the pig. -
It makes the DEEP cleaning a LOT easier. Especially with caked on carbon.

Is it tight when the pins are in? Or does it wobble still??

13.7” Dissipator!! Getting back in Black... out
Robocop1051 replied to Robocop1051's topic in 300 AAC Blackout
I haven’t welded the KX5 yet. I felt there was something missing... I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was that damned front sight. So i dug through my old box of parts and found my old PRI railed has block. I had chopped off the front clamp YEARS ago for a previous Blackout build. It’s going to require a little more “fitting” but this is going to be amazing!! -
A “good” single stage trigger is $$$. Look at PACT Gold, Jard and Timney for examples. Im a single stage fan, but I’m not a long distance shooter. I like sturdy combat triggers.

I banged him twice with the .338LM... trying to put a hole in the softer metal.

A friend came to me and asked what kind of outlandish .300Blk I could come up with. Not having a pistol... and not being allowed an SBR in PRK... this was a conundrum for me, as I wanted “short” but I was having issues finding an affordable option... thus began my mission. Fuq-it!!! I own a gawdam gun manufacturing company! I totally got this in the bag. First, I bought a 16” Carbine barrel from Brownells to start this off. The only other options I found online were 8” and 10.5” which wouldn’t work. Finding a decent 14.5” was rare, and finding a 13.7” was near impossible (outside of a $400 Noveske). The only option... cut 2.3” off, re-thread, re-crown... Holy shiiiit my shop kicks ass... I think this feature may be getting added to my “services” options. I also have a badass 2.3” keychain coming along now. Lol. The next task was easy... assemble this SOB. I wanted an inexpensive and lightweight handguard, and I have a little passion for the “Dissipator” style rifle. My go-to is the rifle length Magpul MOE handguard... on a 13.7” barrel!!! I had to ditch the concept of a front sight, which I was comfortable with as I haven’t used one in years. Here she is paired next to my 7.62x39 pistol upper. All that’s missing is a custom composite shim, that I’m making, that’ll press the handguard cap into the handguard and index off the rear of the KX5. I smell another FDE red dot in the near future. these muzzle devices are so bestial. Obviously the KX5 is what it is, but the Krinkov on the right is identical in concept and design, but cosmetically Soviet. Hoping to shoot both of these ASAP.

Injection molding is tricky. The molds bow over time and the molded parts get thicker and thicker. I’m thinking the walls of the frame are getting thicker from over molding. It’s probably time for them to make a new mold.

That was my first shot with the Deagle

A big debut day with our new CR-7, chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. I got the opportunity to go hang out with the illustrious Craig “Sawman” Sawyer and get him some trigger time, hammering away. This is the near (99%) complete version that is being released soon, to a gun-pusher near you.

Have you tried just adding weight to your current buffer, and see if it makes any difference in performance for you?

The 308 world is not as bad as it used to be. I would feel comfortable using almost any reputable “LR-308” compatible bolt. We used to have a hook up, with one of our members. Somebody around here have to remember his name. Several of the longtime members here have successfully used his bolts, in numerous builds.

As the liberal world tries to continuously shut us out and silence us, patriots rise up, like those at Full30, to provide an alternate avenue for us to explore our shared hobby. Now more than ever is the time for us to show support for those that would provide for us. Full30 has a fledgling forum and their director @Robert@FULL30 has reached out to us for assistance. He’s impressed with how we socialize and handle the occasional riffraff when it presents itself. Im putting out a personal invitation to ALL 308ar member to also join up with Full30.com and join in their community. I apologize beforehand to you codgers that have to learn yet ANOTHER forum format. For the life of me, I don’t know what he sees in all of you. Lol. Just make sure you note that you’re a member here, and you’ll get site recognition. https://forum.full30.com/

To be honest… This is a question best suited for Criterion barrels. I’m almost positive that Criterion barrels uses Fulton armory bolts.
