  1. I always thought Icon was on the verge of Tactical. They were always close just for the “style” of it.
  2. I’m going to answer for @Rsquared and estimate 1978... That’s not a round count, thats the year he last cleaned a gun.
  3. First ever 12g pez dispenser!!
  4. After seeing Greg’s little “runaround” rig he brought to AZ, it kinda makes me want to build my own.
  5. I really like the Blue Force Gear Micro Trauma Kit. Add a RATS to the kit and you could practically EDC the kit without issue. I chest seals and pharyngeal hoses are nice luxuries, but I’ll take a tourniquet, compression bandage and clotting gauze first. I supplied my own CAT’s for duty, but the dept actually supplied us with SWAT-T tourniquets. At a recent training I was recognized for using the CAT, and then using the SWAT-T as a compression bandage. I stuffed the arterial bleed with 9’ of gauze and then used the SWAT-T instead of the Israeli bandage. The giant rubber band, SWAT-T, gave more pressure than the fabric bandage could provide. I also pointed out that it could be used to immobilize limbs just as easily.
  6. That’s a great little starter kit. Of course a CAT is preferable, but they are large and expensive. I carried to on my duty gear, and to more in my saddle bag. I am currently on the hunt for something “smaller“ that can be packed into an EDC bag easier.
  7. Get ready brother... I got some special shit in store for you. I ran out of $$, so some of the items had to wait till I was clear again.
  8. Faxon uses PTG gauges. For the future.
  9. I maaaaay have some things in the works right now...
  10. That is such a GREAT stock. It's too bad they discontinued that version. Their "new" version doesn't do it for me like this one did. Version 1.0 Version 2.0 No more spring inside. The pad is adjusted and locked into position with a pin. They literally flipped the buttpad upside down, making it unwieldy. The owner stated that they had a few buttpads beak at the adjustment stem. They should have just made that part in aluminum. It seems like this was the least expensive consolation they could come up with without changing all their designs. It's really too bad. Phenominal v1.0 The new Luth-AR MBA-3 has my current interest.. If MFT gets their shit together on an adjustable cheek riser for their Minimalist stock, that'll be AWESOME.
  11. Yup. Knock out the roll pin from your existing buffer. pull out the rubber stopper. dump the old weights, and replace with the tungsten. Reinstall parts. done!
  12. When Remington and Mossberg came out with their 14” firearms I went nuts. Personally, I am a big fan of the 12 gauge as a defensive round. Those that know me here, know how much fun I have playing with the Mossberg Shockwave when I go to AZ. I hoodwinked @98Z5V into getting one and it’s slowly getting converted into insanity.... I have plans for that one That being said, I still don’t own my own, and as long as I’m in the PRC I won’t get to own one. Recently an old friend came to me and asked if I still had some old airsoft guns. He wanted to buy them from me. Better yet, he offered his unfired 870 in trade... done!! i took home my new shotgun and immediately got to work with a bunch of parts I had laying around. I stripped my “Trench gun” apart and reverted it back to original parts. I put in an order for some extra parts I had been delaying on. Then I got to assembly on my new house gun... this is my new Gladiator 870 7 rounds of low recoil 000 buckshot in the tube. 4 more in the side saddle, plus two magnum slugs... for whatever. i forgot I had that Pachmayr Vindicator grip in my gear. My original plan was a Magpul SGA, but this might live here for a while. Added a Surefire and a Crimson Trace Laser to the Magpul Forend. I’m REALLY liking this setup. I already have a Beachin Sling for it. I just need a few more QD rings.
  13. The most affordable buffer you can get, is the one you make. Buy the tungsten buffer weights and build to your desired weight. The only way to get the max 10 oz is the buy a Slash Heavy Buffer. I actually cut my own buffer for a very special build. It’s only 2.5” long and uses a 1/2” tungsten dowel inside. Even though it’s so short, I go the weight to 5.5 oz.
  14. I’ve enjoyed our small chats. I’m really glad you made it over here.
  15. I recently added a new Streamlight to my EDC. The ProTac 1L-1AA is advertised as a “dual fuel” being able to use CR123 or AA batteries. I can attest that it will also use use AAA batteries. It came with a battery, but when that’s dead I’ll replace it with a rechargeable CR123, and reserve the feature to use AA or AAA for emergencies. 350 lumens is perfect for my EDC, and the versatility of batteries tickles my prepper bone. and it now comes in FDE.... how can one not buy it?!??!
  16. I’d invest in a scope mount that was designed for that kind of range too. Perhaps a 20 or 30 MOA mount, so you’re not maxing out your adjustments. I agree with Matt about switching to 175gr for that longer shot. No reason why you wouldn’t be able to hang out with all the rest of the .308 shooters with that beast.
  17. If it’s tight, or drags a little, it’s due to the extremely tight tolerances. Just oil it up a little and rub it down real good with some 000+ steel wool. I smoothed out the finish on all mine, just for the added performance.
  18. The .308 only had the “sniper” model, which was their original. The AR-15 has the CQB version and the Sniper
  19. I just spit on it. It usually works it’s way in after that.
  20. I find it very interesting on how many “tactical“ companies are now making “covert “lines of gear… And so many, normally mundane, companies now make “Tactical” gear. The North Face and Merrell boots both have Tactical lines now. Vertx and 5.11 both have their “Grey Man” products.
  21. My wife is a TFN junkie. Packs, jackets, clothes, shoes, you name it. I gotta give them credit. They make some sturdy gear.
  22. I think Larue sells them too. I know that was the Larue CH for a long time.
  23. Yeah. He did a magnificent job https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/06/01/ar15-build-post-doomsday/
