  1. Lol, availability... I would like a Wilson, but no one has any. No one is expecting anything till March or later :'( I can get the AR-Stoner immediately <thumbsup>
  2. This looks promising! "AR-Stoner" 300 BLK 1:8 16" S/S (I read that "AR-Stoner" barrels are made by ER Shaw? <dontknow> )
  3. The first report was Kevin Brittingham had to escorted from the facility. That doesn't sound like a peaceful resolution was achieved. On the flip side, I'm sure he has a big fat wallet to land on. Maybe the buy out took the wind out of sail and he just doesn't care enough. <dontknow>
  4. I've never heard of that when getting fired?? I would agree if they left voluntarily and received a severance package as part of the "hush order". Maybe a NDA was purchased prior to them leaving... Or maybe they (the AAC staff members) actually fucked up enough to get fired and they don't want anyone to know about it.
  5. You know what irks me? The name "Geissele"!! No matter how many times I see it I still read it as "Gi-Sell" or even "Geese-Lee"... Knowing full well the guy pronounces his name "Guyz-lee". There is absolutely no weight or substance to my post. Just white noise to be ignored. My minor thread jack. Carry on, as you were.
  6. Here's a better pic of their "dragon" design
  7. <laughs> <lmao> I see the confusion now.... Very similar! Lol, I wouldn't fun ya, if I didn't like ya!
  8. I don't know where you plan to shoot oinker's but where I shoot that is waaaay too much scope for hunting. I'm shy about scopes for hunting. I have one on a 308 bolt gun, and I use it a lot, but only when I'm expecting to take that long shot. Most pig hunts I still use an open sight lever gun. For hunting purposes I would recommend a 1-4x, 2-7x, or 3-9x... And that really depends on how much range time you expect to be doing. My .308 bolt rifle has a 3-9x on it, because I use it in CO for 150+ yard shots. Except for one hunt in CO, all my shots with that rifle have been done at 3x or 4x. I regularly shoot it at ranges out to 300 with no issues. I truly believe you only need 3x per 100 yards. That would make your 6-18x scope ideal from 100-600 yards, but really difficult for shots closer than that. As for my personal .308AR, I am shopping for the IOR Valdada "Spartan" 2-12x36. It is on the more expensive side of scopes, but I wanted a scope I could shoot from 50-300 yards with. I was going to get the NF 2-10x, but I like what the Valdada offers more.
  9. The hammer would do no better and no worse. The design in inherently the same as the others. It may rate near the Magpul/ VLTOR range. The UBR exceeded the test because it is a completely different construction. The flaw was basically a "peg in the hole". Either the peg (including the structure around the peg) or the hole failed in each test.
  10. A decent community.... I now judge all others against us, and I say we're GREAT... The others are just decent. Lol
  11. We had to do that in the police academy. We balanced pennies on the front sight of our pistols. Then we had to dry fire in double action.
  12. I wish one of the three guys would speak up. Their silence is as weird as the situation.
  13. Lol, worlds loooongest acronym.
  14. I don't know why they couldn't extend the rail all the way to the receiver???
  15. I have to lol again. My barrel cost $1000 by itself. I'm intrigued to see if the OP can pull it off. <thumbsup>
  16. Hey thread jacker!! <lmao> Ron Williams makes an upper that uses grease gun mags. He will cut the mags down to a 10 round capacity. A couple other guys have used 10 rnd Uzi mags.
  17. So the planning phase his a snag. I called DD and they said no barrels till May or June. That sucks! Now I'm looking at the Wilson Combat 14.7" barrel with the BABC again. I'll have to do a car/mid dissy if that's the case. I have another in the works right now that will delay my 300. I'm building a lightweight Colt for my father.
  18. This topic has been moved to .308AR Parts. [iurl]http://308ar.com/forum/index.php?topic=2902.0[/iurl]
  19. Lol, I can't log into Brownells without dropping $400-$500. I have no concept of a $1k rifle. I believe a top end rifle can be built cheaper than some of the $3k tags out there. The lowest end, bare bones, 308 I've seen, still sold for $1100. I don't know where to cut costs on that??
  20. I've seen that show. I dont see all the hype. They bragged about their new line of AR15, saying nothing like it has been done before. I read the stats and equipment list, and I have all that and more in my AR15. They're all jackasses. Now if you want an eye candy show, American Gun is it. Still jackasses, but the women are easier on the eyes.
  21. You owe me a coke. http://308ar.com/forum/308ar-parts/side-charge-308-ar/
  22. There's a thread somewhere around here that posted several side charging uppers. Both left and right sight, or ambi. My favorite is still the KR7 by Kaiser Mil Tech. Good luck contacting them though.
  23. The Sig guys came to my dept and were pushing these guns hard back in Oct 2011. We have a shit ton of Beretta auto shot guns and HK G36k's that they were going to take in trade. We're working through a regime change now, but we should be back in business by mid spring. Good chance I may be able to handle one of these around that time.
  24. What part of NorCal? I'm out of Sacto now.
