I have to say, if I have to wear gloves on duty, I recommend the Oakley SI Tactical Gloves with the carbon fiber, or the Under Armour Tacticsl gloves. The carbon fiber is great for assault situations, but not so great for just wearing. I own a black Kevlar/nomex set and two tan leather sets. For my patrol use I prefer the UA gloves. They are very form fitting. A lot of guys like Hatch and 5.11 gloves, but I have no experience with those... Yet! My 1911 (SA TRP Operator) is set up with very aggressive front/rear strap checkering and VZ "Operator" micarta grips. It was set-up to be shot while wearing gloves.

I thought Noveske used polygonal barrels?

I have the same buffer (measures 5-5/16"). I don't think the buffer is the issue. I think you are getting too much compression from your buffer spring. Are you positive that you are using the longer fixed stock spring, and not a carbine spring? Could the tube have been faulty? I say the spring is too short or too weak. It's allowing your buffer to slam back too hard. How does the buffer look? Any damage you can you pictures of?

While Magpul makes the UDE products, only LaRue gets them. Last i heard, UDE is a LaRue specific color. LaRue only gets the CTR stock and MOE grips. My best suggestion would be to find the PRS in FG or FDE and then use Rit dye to create the color you're looking for. There are a few guides online, but it's mostly a trial and error process.

While at work I mainly wear Oakley SI and Under Armour gloves. Now that I'm back on motors I wear my Alpine Star gauntlets again. Since I wear them so often, I have trained wearing all the gloves just in case. I can honestly say I hate them. I hate them all. My big problem is that I like thick grips on my guns. When I put gloves on the grip is then too wide. Then my fingers fumble on the controls. I'd have to have two seperate set-ups, one with gloves and one without. The only glove worth wearing is a professional pistol shooters glove. That will only benefit shooting a pistol though. Guys that use those gloves never shoot without them. Once you set up to shoot, and shoot accurately, you shouldn't change anything. Not if you aren't expecting a change in performance. If your hand gets tired shooting an AR, I don't think gloves will help much. In reality you may require a different pistol grip or handguard. What furniture do you currently have on your rifle? Do you shoot from a bench mostly, or freehand?

Those SASS barrels are accurate, but use proprietary has blocks. They also weigh a ton. The SASS is a different contour than others.

Fulton used to make a rifle length 16" barrel. A few guys here have them. Have you tried there yet?

Not just any "guns" but registered class III guns. When BATFE did an audit of their inventory they were missing about a half dozen serial numbers. Their reasoning was that they ruined the receivers while making customizations and then discarded them without deactivating the serial numbers. It seems like a no brainer... But that may exactly be the issue <laughs>. If you do a business search for "Red Jacket" you'll get hits on Red Jacket Defense, Red Jacket Llc, Red Jacket Security Consulting and a bunch of other similar shit. All at the same address, or very near. Will Hayden and his daughter are the owners of only a few. All his other employees are listed as owners of the other companies. I see this star verging towards going super nova and dying off. When your big, advanced, industry changing rifle is just a Mega Arms 5.56 with an Adams Arms piston... Sorry Will, I already own one. Give me a shop, a bottomless budget, and 4-5 guys who know what they're doing... We could force evolution on the firearms world.

Technically.... Sine you brought up the Laws of Physics. <---- asshole alert The blast/noise is exactly the same out of all rifles, with or without muzzle devices (barring a suppression unit). The redirection of gases with a muzzle device just changes the perception of felt, seen and heard shots based on your location in respect to the muzzle. While you, and those near you, may feel a brake is louder, down range the shot is going to be stifled. The exact opposite occurs with a linear brake. It's the Law. Now before you say, "Damn that Robo, he's such an A-hole!" let me clear something up. Based on your statement I fully assume that you are already aware of everything I just wrote. My intention was to inform others who may not grasp the idea in the same manner. Thus influencing them to buy a certain muzzle device based on their misperception of facts. Did that make sense?

All those reasons are why I like it. Bigger, meaner, more aggressive. I hear that's how 98Z5V picks his future Exwives?! <lmao>

Anyone heard of these guys? http://sotaarms.com/ Their prices are OMG low on some items. I've seen some "group buys" on other sites through these guys. If they're any good, maybe Dave Bransen can add them to his list.

I don't agree that bigger always equals better. While that is usually how technology starts. It's only a matter of time (and $$$) before someone scales down and makes the part out of unobtainium. Don't get me wrong though. As far as weight goes, I absolutely love the look of your design. I absolutely see the purpose of its application and I look forward to its completion.

Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain... Lol, I couldn't resist. Welcome to our den of addicts and enablers.

I agree that weight helps accuracy. I just think that that rule is very 20th century. With modern 21st century technology you should be able to make your rifle lightweight, sub-MOA and still pop like a small cal rifle. The 17" rifle length barrel was my first move to reducing felt recoil. Next I have the CS spring, a CWS inside a stainless steel carrier, and an Enidine buffer. My last option was to use the BABC. I decided that for my use, I needed follow up shots more than a brake. Otherwise I would have done the Cooley. I agree that I could've made my rifle lighter, but at the cost of reliability. In the end, this rifle still has to function as a patrol rifle.

It looks great. <thumbsup>

I have the Apex Rifle Length Gator Grip. I remember that when I got the box in the mail I laughed saying, "I hope it's not empty." That HG is very light. I used Magpul polymer 5-slot rails to add side rails (VLTOR ModPod) and a 7-slot for a bottom rail (I really like AFG's). I installed an Apex rifle length top rail. Although if I had it to do over again I would've skipped the top rail. It's just extra weight with very little purpose. Another polymer 5-slot would've sufficed for my front MBUS.

I think I know the one you're talking about. Daniel Defense is releasing a similar design that looks affordable. I would've liked one for my 300 blk build. I called DD last week and they advised me that a release date was expected in May or June.

I use CalGuns.net to keep up on coming AB's and California case law. I also like their auctions. SnipersHide, TheHighRoad, and TheFiringLine are places I use for reviews of products. Rarely do I use 24hourCampfire. I also use 1911forum for news on coming 1911's. I hate that I use ARF and GlockTalk. I have to scroll through page after page of garbage and BS to get to the few guys who know something. Then usually they just link me back to their posts at the first group of websites. Recently I started reading OpticsTalk. My jury is out on them.

Robocop1051's 14.5" Dissipator 300 AAC Blackout
Robocop1051 replied to Robocop1051's topic in 300 AAC Blackout
Now that price tag would change my mind! I can't find a barrel for less than $200, and if that's the case I might as well drop the extra $30-$40 for the WC. I was originally going to get the DD barrel because the price was right (LE discount). -
What do you have on order or in the mail?

Wtg unforgiven! I love Battlecomp's. I just ordered another v1.5 this afternoon. -

Robocop1051's 14.5" Dissipator 300 AAC Blackout
Robocop1051 replied to Robocop1051's topic in 300 AAC Blackout
It's not about quality. It's black :puke:! I like stainless :yup: If I wanted a black barrel I would hold out for one of the Daniel Defense CHF barrels. -
Robocop1051's 14.5" Dissipator 300 AAC Blackout
Robocop1051 replied to Robocop1051's topic in 300 AAC Blackout
I actually clicked on all three and their status changed to "out of stock" due back in stock late Feb to early Mar. While I'm not turned off by the ER Shaw barrel, I'm definitely turned on by the Wilson Combat idea. After buying my carbon fiber barrel, I can't justify the expense on a Noveske or AAC. The last choice would be the CMMG, which I'm not fond of at all.
