Likewise, if you're one that will do this, you will probably be short on time in "making your configuration" when that order page opens up. Do your homework, do your recon, plan what you want. Have your barrel picked out, have your rail picked out, cruise the DD website and make informed choices ahead of time. There are no "bad parts" from DD. There really isn't something on there that would "let you down," or break, because you didn't select the more expensive option, at the time. I suggest this, at least for a barrel - the 16" midlength gas, LW profile, 1:7 twist. That will be a great shooting barrel, handle all ranges of ammo you can find, will be accurate, and is a good compromise between barrel length, mobility, and range. WIth a good 14.5" barrel, you can knock stuff down at 600 yards (training would be the limiting factor in that), so... Additionally, that barrel is in stock right now.
