  1. Works every single time, brother. Matt knows this, too. Slow is Smooth, and Smooth is Fast. OLD JumpMaster adage, when it comes to the JMPI portion of the class. You don't make the time cut - kicked out. You rush it? You'll fuk it up. You need to SLOW DOWN and pay attention, in order to speed up and go fast... Crushes JumpMaster Students left and right. Taught it for 3 years, course NCOIC for 2 final years. Graduated a record number of students, my final 2 years, but I crushed dreams, for the inattentive... I was their last stop, in their counseling for Dismissal from the Course... Long story short - I've always been an as$hole... As a JumpMaster, if you fuk this up, you can kill a jumper. You NEVER fuk this up. It's an ingrained SCIENCE into your brain, once you perfect it.

    98's 6mm ARC

V-Max has turned into the ELD-X line. Strictly for hunting, blowing up critters. The difference is in the composition of the polymer tip, to resist heat - as you mentioned before. V-Max = ELD-X, but ELD-X has a different polymer tip - and any other projectile improvements that they've made since those days when they developed the original V-Max. A-Max now equals ELD-M. The same target round, new improved composition for the polymer tip, plus those projectile improvements to aid a better BC. Same stuff, men, just a little bit better in the technological advancements. Don't be afraid to switch over and make a new load. The new projectiles are a little better.

    98's 6mm ARC

Alright, I know I've previously posted the graphics of the 6 ARC beating the .308 Win 178 ELD-X, JUST BARELY, and both those just flat SMOKIN' the 6.5 Grendel 123 ELD-M. I know I posted that graphic... I thought that was odd, and I stated it when I saw the numbers from a Kotaboy32 vid that @DayWalker posted. I dug up the info. ....aaaaand, my numbers weren't matching those advertised numbers, not even close. Not in the previous Hornady stuff, and certainly not in the vid that DW posted... Well, Hornady has changed their advertised charts now... There is no more drop chart that has 6.5 Grendel in it, and the previous chart that showed .308 Win 178 ELD-X - that's been replaced with the 168 ELD-M - I think that's because they really know how badass that 178 ELD-X is... The removal of the Grendel data was to replace it with 5.56 73gr ELD-M... Well, FUK! I know I can streeeeeetch out a 5.56 gun, too! Glad I added the 5.56 Mk12 Mod 1 to the mix, earlier... Here's the new chart, from Hornady's website: Shiit's gonna start getting real next weekend, men. I DGAF how hot it is out...
  4. Damn, Albro - you have some serious skills AND badass machinery running!!! WOW!!!
  5. This is epic - and oh, so true...
  6. We're gonna see if @billymagg blows his 0600 deadline tomorrow morning, and actually delivers pics...
  7. You have about 3 years, from now, and you'll "like sleeping in to 0600..."
  8. Did that for too long. Tired of it. ^^^He knows what I'm talking about... 0600 is fine for me these days... @billymagg, just so you know...

    98's 6mm ARC

So, here's the deal. I'll rip down the .224 Valk this weekend and rebuild it as a 6 ARC. That's really just a barrel change on the Valk. Next Tuesday, the MangetoSpeed V3 gets here, so I'll gather initial zero info and ammo-accuracy info next weekend. Midway has some teaser pricing on the Magnetospeed for $339. Haven't been to Midway in a long time, so I logged in, updated all my info, put that fucker in my cart, and proceeded to checkout. I check shipping choices on it before I logged in and did all that update shiit-2 days, $20. Cool. Whilst going through the checkout process, I notice that there's no place to check or select your Method of Shipment... and it defaulted to a $10.98 shipping charge, with an estimated delivery range of 25~28 August... You read that right. So, I back up, edit the cart, and go back through the whole process again, from that screen that tells me 2 days for $20. And I go back in the cart again- and you cannot select an alternate (or ANY) shipping method. No problem. I've already had it with shooting this thing, and I'm NOT waiting until the end of August to start this process - I need to start it when it's hot as fuk here, now, so I can see how much this changes in the next 6 or 7 months, when I can get the cool-weather data. I don't need to wait until NEXT summer to gather my hot-weather data. That would be ignorant. So, I come back here, click the Brownell's Sponsor link (like a responsible .308AR'er should do - get clicks for the forum), and I search the MagetoSpeed V3 in a hard case - $380, my price is $360. Fuk it, let's go. I select 2-day for $20, pay $380, and Brownell's will have my chrono here next Tuseday. And next weekend, I can fire this damn thing already. Larry Potterfield - you should have had other shipping methods available. My time is worth way more than the $21 savings you had that device listed for. Brownell's just kicked your ass again. Now that my is over - I'll be shooting this 6 ARC, at least in temporary form, on the morning of Sunday, August 9th. I hope it's 115*, too. Need to grab that shocking "hot-as-fuk" weather data and performance numbers. Full chrono data and full Kestrel weather data will be reported. Next target to knock down is 8lbs of Accurate 2520 powder. I'm down to about 2lbs of it now, maybe a little more. I have a source, and it's pretty good right now.
  10. Damnit. I knew I should have saved those damn things.
  11. I did forget that... But, I recall now! Two schools for me at Devens, one was a "tactical training course" for assignments to field units, as an intel dude. Radios, generators, tents, 292 antennas - that stuff. Next time there was not long before they shut it down, BNCOC in '91.
  12. Indeed, you can. That's a viable solution, too.
  13. You're really gonna do that to us? Are you serious?!!? Not even a picture here to go with this awesome story?! I'm recommending you for remedial training, starting a 0600 tomorrow morning...
  14. Damn. You guys are both MI. I knew right away on Nam62, when he posted that patch. Rex, that shocked my, 05D, huh? Pretty damn cool, guys. I signed up as a 98C, SIGINT Analyst, and realized real quick that I hated Intel Geeks. I gravitated my way towards Infantry and SF units, and stayed my happy ass in those as much as I could. One tour I couldn't avoid was "another trip back to Korea" and I ended up in 3rd MI BN (AE). These days its a Beechcraft RC-12, that looks like a flying porcupine, and the DeHaviland Dash 7. All told, between 4 tours and 10 TDYs in Korea, it's eaten up 6 solid years of my life. 73 months, to be exact. When we first got the Dash 7s, they were painted exactly like this... These days, I've heard that they paint them different.
  15. @Bear,I have a feeling you're gonna fit in just fine around here...
  16. What is your shooting goal, here? 1000 yards is your starting point? Or is it Home Defense? Maybe you're hunting deer, and the longest shot you'll ever take will be 185 yards? What's your goal for this gun? That's the most important question that needs to be answered. Can't offer you ANY valid advice without your input on that part of the equation. By the way - a 10lb .308AR is pretty fucking light. A loaded 20-rd mag weighs 2lbs, just on it's own. Magnified optics in a decent mount is another 2lbs. My experience.
  17. That's a whole bunch of fucked up words that you combined into things that don't exist. What country do you live in? ESL, by chance? (English as a Second Language)... PLEASE start your own topic about what you're trying to do here. The thread you jumped into was already 4 years-ish old. I look forward to your new topic. I hope you're not a troll, or a fake-bot, working your way in here. We'll find out shortly. I'm going out on a limb here, and predicting...
  18. I use Vet Wrap to hold that poop down - and I do it, too. It comes in colors, including Woodland Camo. That's my cheekrest on my .300 Win Mag, right like that. In the old Army days, you cut a chunk off your Sleep Mat off, and used 100mph tape to fix it to your buttstock. Vet Wrap is alot easier.
  19. Brother, you jsut turned a lesson into a Mantra. 1.5 guns should REALLY be 2.0 guns. I think you just made 1.5 guns into 3.0 guns, if I read your post right...
  20. Oh, Damn... You're gonna be FUN around here!...
  21. I was a Varget-only guy before 2012. Once Sandy Hook happened - I kid you not - Varget disappeared, and I had to find a suitable replacement. I found RL-15. I've never turned back. It was my .308 Heavy-load powder, until recently. It's still my 5.56 Heavy-load powder, and that won't change. My 5.56 loads are dialed for my 18" guns, and they're badass. I recently switched up my .308 Heavy-load powder at the same time I switched projectiles. Before, I was only loading the Hornady 178gr HPBT Match projectile. I've switched over to the Hornady 178 ELD-X for all my precision .308 Win loads now, and forever. It's a far superior projectile. With that, my powder changed to Accurate 2495. I couldn't be happier.
  22. I had that feeling when the first one hit - that was a commercial airliner inside a recently-declared No Fly Zone. It wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. I knew then that it was no "accident." When the second plane hit the other tower, I knew I was right.
  23. Your wife is yelling THIS right now...
  24. I'm running RL-22 for my .260 Rem, and it LOVES that powder. Grab a pound of that and play around. From a 20" barrel, I'm getting 2650fps with Hornady 147 ELD-M projos. 43.0 grains was my most accurate charge, before I started seeing pressure signs, before the next accuracy node that I would have hit. I know for positive that they switched over to RL-15 for the Mk 262 loaded ammo. That was the Mk 262 Mod 1 change. I think I remember hearing about that for the M118LR revisions, too, after they discovered it on the 5.56 heavies. I'll go back through the power point slides from Doc Roberts, about that.
  25. You may not realize it, but you actually subsidize what it takes to keep me on payroll. I actually get paid nothing - but it takes alot to keep me here when I go off on a dumbass - and that's where the "value" comes in... I've launched some pretty legendary ass-reamings here, which further caused Drew to directly shiit a Rabid Monkey straight out of his ass... It's everything the other guys here can do, just to keep me around... and NOT be Banned...
