What phone number did you call?
-
You don't just go to the address, and walk in the front door. There's not even signage out front, identifying what the location is. When you drive up - you don't even know if you're in the right place of not - you look at the address, look at the front of the building... and you're still not sure. The main door has a cipher lock - you don't get to just "open the front door" to them. ASll the front glass is mirrored - you don't get to look in there. You ring a buzzer. After a minute, a GIANT dude answers that door, and asks you when you're there. So you tell him. If you pass his check - you get in. If someone at Armalite told you that you could come up there - then you better remember the name of the person that told you that. If not - you ain't getting in. So, once you get in there - you're in a main lobby that will blow your mind. That GIANT dude that let you in will tell you to "stay right there..." ...and you WILL, too. He gets the person that told you to come up there, and that person comes to the front lobby. You handle your business that you were allowed to handle - and you leave. And that GIANT dude makes sure the door is shut when you exit. They don't do storefront sales. They don't have customers come in and buy things. There's no "I'll just swing buy and see what they have ready today" in that place. I have two people I can call to get into that building. One is one of the guys that gets parts for people. The other one is the guy that runs the entire NEXUS Ammo section/company/department - whatever size of the company that is, and they call it. There aren't any financial issues with the company, at this time. Just because a local gun shop doesn't have an interest in carrying their product, should that mean that the company has financial issues? I think not. My Gun Pusher hates Springfield Armory, and before the Hellcat - he wouldn't carry ANY SA product. Does that mean that SA was going under?... I don't understand the rationale in going between "my local dealer has no interest in Armalite" and "that company must be in financial trouble..." I just don't get the link. Let me know what I'm missing in that... EDIT - This is the same exact thing that Timney does. Timney Triggers are in Phx. They don't have a storefront, and don't do walk-in sales, off the street. Now, based on that, I've been to Timney, and talked to the ladies in the front office before - because there's no "customer storefront." My visit was great, the front office people are fantastic. And my trigger wasn't "shipped to me." Business rules, are whatever the business decides that they are. If you raise hell about a business's rules - you don't change anything. If you talk to people nice on the phone - you learn other information... There I go again. I just did it. I stated something about "talking to someone on a phone" again, instead of sending a text or an email, or posting on their FaceBook/Instagram Page... How dare I...

Armalite AR-10 Carbine Recoil System KIT, first off. Springco Orange spring and KAK Shorty buffer (5.3oz), second. No matter which one you go with, you'll need the offset buffer retaining pin.

How did you do that? Remington shut DPMS down a few months ago. That's total bullshiit, right there - that doesn't fly on this board, and never has. As soon as I see that bullshiit spread, I shut it down. Go find it, since you saw it here on this board. Here's an example of that exact discussion, handled last week, through a PM... Go tell Mister DPMS to read this, and refute it.

One other thing about all these body cameras - I've use the GoPros enough to quantify this statement - it's just like your passenger-side mirror...

If you've been in a combat zone, you'll know what I mean... That was a non-complying threat, and a life-threatening situation - with complete non-compliance, and ignoring everything that was told to him. And he was killed for his decisions, alone. Nothing more. It's pretty simple. In reality.

He just crashed his truck into five other vehicles, totaled his truck, and he was already reported as suicidal, prior to said incident... If you were a cop - or armed military - and you were approached like that, in that situation - the fucker would be shot. Tell me about your LE and MIL experience in this kind of scenario, now... I'll wait...

Did you ever check the headspace in that gun, before you fired it?...

LR 308 Buffer TUBE question
98Z5V replied to txchl's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Raping a 6-yeal old thread is what's driving this conversation, right now... NecroPosting... I'm just sayin'... -
I still have it. Shot very little. I think I'm gonna offer it up for a raffle, because I don't sell guns. Ever. This "Panic" is making it hard, though - I could probably get $1400 for that thing. I'm actually saving that one for Anthony... You'll get that, and understand why... Oh, I know exactly how many I have, brother. And I know which "#" this 6 ARC is... I might forget which locker, box or safe a certain one is in, but that's to be expected, kinda... They move depending on use, and space. I need another orange vault again. Free some movement up.

She's badass enough, that I think YOU will be makin' HER Sammich, brother... I'm just sayin'... When she tells you to make it, too...
-
She's sleeping on the dragon. I don't even think he knows what planet he's on...
-
Any takers? She's the 23-year old LAPD Officer that shot this guy brandishing a knife, and wouldn't drop it when told to do so.
-
She lost her sandals - his are still on, somehow...

@392heminut - this thread had you written all over it, brother.

LR 308 Buffer TUBE question
98Z5V replied to txchl's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
That's not something to worry about, and the difference in that drawing is there because the milspec uses rolled threads, and the commercial uses cut threads. The only way to tell the difference isn't by looking at them - it's by measuring the O.D. Mil=spec is 1.14" OD, and commercial is 1.17" OD. That will tell you right there what you have, right away. Digital vernier caliper is the fastest way to find out. Don't measure threads, and waste your time - measure the smooth part. You'll know right away. This should break it down pretty easy for you: -
You talking external dimensions by chance? I'm betting that it's 7.000" internal depth of that receiver extension. You need a 5.4oz buffer to run it properly. Closest you easily get is 5.3oz, and that will work. https://www.kakindustry.com/lr308-carbine-buffer-heavy You need a Sprinco Orange spring, as a buffer spring. https://www.primaryarms.com/sprinco-ar10-orange-extra-power-carbine-buffer-spring

They're testing the tensile strength of those tailgate cables, I'm just sayin'...

^^^ Doc is all over that like a fat kid on a cupcake. -
^^^ I could solve the world's problems with that bag of miracles, right there...

I'm glad you already know how to cook, brother, WAY BEFORE this app. This made me think of something - guys that go out and buy gadgets to shoot, and it/they do all the work for you, and you can makes shots at distance with all your gadgets. But if the batteries died, they wouldn't have a fucking clue... No real skills...

I hate finger and toe injuries. Freak me out. Lop your arm off, just above the wrist, I'm looking at radius and ulna sticking out, making fun of me? No issues. First, tourniquet, and we'll stop that bleeding. We worry about other shiit after that. But FINGERS AND TOES.... GAWD DAYMIT!!! If that hook was in MY thumb, that bastard would have come out quick, and I ain't kidding. There's no way I could look at it, and drive myself to an urgent care - I'd pass the fuk out first. That hook would HAVE to go, one direction or another. Won't pull? PUSH, and HARD, and cut the end off and get the rest out. Right after that, I'd barf, then disinfect the wound and dress it. If I didn't pass out first.

Barrel Profiles Thread - From Bull to Pencil.
98Z5V replied to 98Z5V's topic in 308 AR - What You Need To Know
Either way - as long as we can get the info into one place. Pinned is cool, and it's right there. I think @willbirdis working on some cool profiles, so it won't disappoint. -

This section is so small - does it really need to be pinned? -
Barrel Profiles Thread - From Bull to Pencil.
98Z5V replied to 98Z5V's topic in 308 AR - What You Need To Know
Nah, it's for @willbird - he's re-profiling some of his barrels, and PM'd me, asking for a someone to pin a thread for him, to put the info in. Rather than pin one, I figured this section was best for that kind of information. And, we can put any other barrel profile information in here, too. I just don't know if he can reply in this section or not...
