  1. The 7s are badass, brother, especially with the heavies, like the 175s. That's the whole reason I built up a 7mm-08 upper - just to run those badass 7mm 175s... Gonna SMOKE my .260 Rem - and it's very, very painful to say that... I'm on your side with this, Eric - DO IT, brother!...
  2. In all serious business, @JBMatt and I work well in shooting - doesn't matter who is shooting or spotting. scope doesn't really matter in MIL or MOA. It's just time on the gun, and time on the glass, looking at the same target. We've been shooting these matches together for coming up on 4 years. Over time, I don't really get to spot for him in a stage, because I've roped myself into running the stages as a "Squad Mom." Alot of times, I don't get him spotting for me, because we sign up at about the same exact time, so we are about 2 shooters apart in firing order. We usually work it out, if it's a tough-ish stage, I'll have someone else run the timer and/or scorepad to spot him - and same with him... He'll grab his gun and mag, next up, get on glass, spot me shooting, and be the next guy up in the firing order. Most of the time, after the match, we get Bloody Marys and Burgers, and bitch about how sorry the spotters for this match were... For real...
  3. Caught the first one!
  4. My Personal Fave is, "Just GO FAST, and DON'T SUCK!..."
  5. @Matt.Cross... Just to let you know, brother... @JBMatt switched out his scope on his Win Mag, sometime in the last 2 weeks. He shows up yesterday, and there's a damn MOA scope on the thing... Now, we already SHOT2k yards with this gun, AND HE CHANGES IT UP?!!? TO MOA?!!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!? He has a real reason for doing that, but I was initially, THOROUGHLY convinced that the only reason was to piss me off... After awhile, as his spotter, I got used to calling it for him. He'd give me some weird number that he was seeing, so I'd just give him some other weird number back. Eventually, by the end of the day, it all worked out...
  6. Most times, it's a little more than that...

    Grilling

This is particularly impressive... Because you don't have small hands, you giant Viking bastard...
  8. Total Hipster cartridge... All the cool, without the work...
  9. My excitement for this distance is coming up in about 5 weeks. The Win Mag is proven. in about 5 weeks, we'll get to see two new Mile Guns (last November) run this one - the 6.5 PRC and 6.5x284 Norma. If we're lucky, we'll get to see the .300 PRC run it, too. I'm ALL jazzed up to see if we can get these cartridges out there on steel, after getting them to 1,760 yards successfully.
  10. @JBMatt hit today on shot #3 (new record for us), and Shot #5. 2 hits in the same mag. We are pushing the .300 Win Mag cartridge about as hard as it can be pushed. Blowing up brass, one case-head separation today just about ended the weekend, but we got it out of the barrel. Then, went onto that "2 hits, one mag" scenario. We're running the very limits of this platform, for sure. It'll get stretched a little further, though. Absolutely.
  11. And spotting scopes, badass binos, expensive tripods, chronographs, scope mounts, range finders, target hit indicators... It's endless, brother. "Condition," or "affliction," or "addiction..." Fuk it, it's all the same thing. Real Long Range is addicting. Once you get this one, and keep getting it...you just want more. We're already looking beyond 2k, trying to figure out the next one. Something will hold us back - either projectile or caliber, being able to observe the shot... Glass... something. Then, we'll fix that and move on... I think we can pull 2300 yards if we shoot from the 450 target, or around there. That's a HUGE jump. I think the only gun here that will make that one is the .375 CheyTac. I need a fukkin' .338 Lapua, bad...
  12. That's only how I spot for @Matt.Cross...
  13. ^^^ He actually said that, today. John was ready to take ALL his guns into the shop and hawk them off, too. John saw dollar signs...
  14. OH DAMN, THAT'S FUKKIN' AWESOME!!!
  15. Positively. For the record, Matt doesn't like it when people cold-bore long shots...
  16. We're already planning on building an extension off the front. Just for Jay... It's called "The Plus-Sized Shooters Modification..."
  17. I gotta say something about this... The Garmin Xero C1 chronograph... @JBMatt got his this week, right before this weekend. This thing is BADASS. It's unreal, what the capabilities of it are.
  18. Matt had to get down the hill, recover all that steel, and John and I stayed up there and SLATHERED that new platform in UV-resistant Thompson's Water Seal. I had a 1.2 gal can of it, and we put half of that can on the platform. Next time we get up there, we'll get the other half can on there, and weatherproof it just that much more...
  19. In the interest of advancing this further, we put in some SOLID WORK this weekend. First and foremost, @JBMatt's Bergara Win Mag is on. the. money. It's working well with the 225 ELD-Ms. Next, for the benefit of not only just us, but for all of you that come out here... 2 weeks ago when we proofed this and actually pulled it off, well... From the very first shot, we already planned on taking a shovel up there "next time" and leveling out that natural shelf, to make it better to shoot from. Over the last 2 weeks of phonecalls, that morphed into building a shooting platform up there. Done. There's now a 4' x 8' platform up on that hill. It stays there. I'll need to have Matt describe this part - Gun Pusher John really DOES have a .375 CheyTac, and it's a bad motherfucker. I knew he had it, I've seen it, but nobody else has. Matt saw it today - he got the pics of it, for "proof of life..." John didn't hit the 2k a couple weeks ago with his Win Mag, but he was super-close a bunch of times. Today, that .375 CheyTac knocked the DOGSHIIT out of that plate, and hard, too. The spawl below the target looked like someone set off a hand grenade under the plate - it was impressive, to say the least. I think he was on in 9 rounds, and something like 19.5 mils at 2k, with a 100-yard zero. That's just nuts... Here's some perspective for this shot - I made sure I got better pics this time.
  20. Man, you could be FUN! How close you live to Arizona? That gun would do perfectly well in the gas gun matches we shoot out here!
  21. I see shiit like that under the hoods of trade-in evals all the time. Spaghetti - everywhere. I tell the owner... "RUN!" Fuq that thing, I don't wanna deal with it. Garage Electrician installed all his own shiit. Nope, we don't want it - or the liability for it. Always turns into... "You sold me this used vehicle LIKE this, and said all the stuff worked..." BooHoo. To you. Fuq no. Reject it. Tell them thanks, but no thanks, sell it on the open market. Then, bring that cash here from that private sale, and we'll talk... Not my problem...
  22. Those pics above ^^^ - that's a straight up DPMS LR-308 looking upper receiver. Identical to the original DPMS LR-308 upper, in every single aspect, every way. Risk it, get an Aero M5 lower receiver. I can tell you for a fact that the real DPMS LR-308 uppers directly mate to the Aero M5 lowers, and work well together. Take the chance.
  23. Example of what I'm saying - 5.56 stuff. Projectile overall lengths. Hornady 75gr HPBT Match, Sierra 77gr Match King, and the Barnes 70 TSX. Hornady 75gr HPBT Match projectile is 0.981" long. Sierra 77gr Match King projectile is 0.984" long. Barnes 70gr TSX projectile is 1.037" long... H - 0.981" S - 0.984" B - 1.037" Bottom line, you can drive the solid copper of the same weight class better, because it's typically longer. The BC is one thing, but the reality in the air is another. Example above, with that 70TSX. Longer projectiles fly better at distance. We'll just have to see how well this one flies to 2k - and that excites me...
  24. Damn - I was looking for the projectiles on their website, for reloading, and didn't see them. I looked in my Barnes Reloading Manual, and they didn't include them. I didn't look at what they had for loaded ammunition... The .611 BC will be great, but these are gonna be different than the 220 ELD-X projectiles, because they're solid copper, which means they are gonna be longer projectiles, over "normal" 220s that have lead inside them. I think these are gonna fly pretty good, and get some hits at 2k. If nothing else, it's gonna make one badass test!
  25. What Barnes 220gr are you shooting, brother - I can't find a Barnes 220 in .30 Cal, on their website.
