  1. You should be good, brother. Got a laser boresight to check 100 with? You gotta run the heavies out of it to get them there...
  2. After reading this one from the top - is that the gun, first picture, that you're shooting in the matches, WITH the 77s? If so, you already know the deal...
  3. Fantastic projectiles. If you already have some loaded up, just straight up try them through this gun, man. You'll like the results.
  4. I checked the listing on that one, and the guy definitely doesn't do his homework, just posts stuff. Example: he listed Stag compatible. No way, unpossible, because the Stag has the Armalite AR-10 cut to the receivers. Never gonna happen. He referenced CMT compatible. Cross Machine Tool? Might work. Or is it Continental Machine and Tool? They are the parent company of Stag, so that's not gonna work with this upper. Mega? Does he mean Mega Machine (Mega Arms, now owned by ZEV)? Not gonna happen, Armalite cut on those billet receivers... With all that erroneous information, I don't trust anything that company states, at all. Didn't even do the necessary research for a proper parts listing, just tossed a bunch of shiit against the wall to see what stuck...
  5. That's some pretty funny self-denial, brother. Well done...
  6. ^^^ THAT is the truth!!! The Mini-Tyrant... I think her political career is about over. No way she wins again...
  7. Wow. Time will tell the tale.
  8. To be expected with 55gr and a 1/7" barrel. That's pretty good, within the limits of factory-loaded 55gr ammo, 2-3 MOA best, through a 7 twist. Test out some 68 or 69gr ammo, then some 75 or 77gr ammo, and you'll see those groups shrink a little. 7 twist and 55s don't really get along like best friends, through most of these.
  9. ^^^ Yep, what Rex said. Flip that mount around.
  10. Don't out our secrets, man!
  11. You need to beat some people at work, brother? Scared-straight stuff? Asking for a friend...
  12. I have two Gen 5s. They're fine, and pass my carry-test. 500 rounds straight with ZERO malfunctions, not even one "hiccup." If there was an issue with my carry-test with a gun, and if had a malfunction on round 499... the issue got fixed, and the round-count started after the fix, at zero rounds. Run 500. Straight. Never had ever one of my Gen 5s fail that test. Just 2 of them. 500 straight, no issues, at all. After time, past that test - still no issues at all. Eh, my $0.02. 19X, 43X. The 43X is my daily, with the Shield Arms mag catch and 15-rd mags. Works, hasn't failed yet, never will.
  13. Best example of this is PSA. They claim (or claimed in the past) that it was a "DPMS Platform," but it wasn't. Later, they claimed that "not all DPMS platforms were made the same" when some true, real DPMS uppers wouldn't work with their lowers. This is a history lesson, here. Later on, they claimed that their uppers and lowers were "proprietary," and guaranteed only their uppers and lowers would work together. I can tell you this much - I can take an Aero Precision M5 upper, or lower, and mate it to a real DPMS upper, or lower, and they work together. The Real DPMS is gone now, though, but the real DPMS pattern is alive and well - with the Aero M5 series. PSA parts, uppers and lowers, do NOT work with Aero M5 uppers and lowers, and they don't work with the original DPMS uppers and lowers. That must have been that "proprietary" claim that they made. Just another example of "manufacturers doing whatever they want" on this Large Frame AR platform. The biggest, greatest example of shiit not working right was Iron Ridge Arms, and their "IRA" series. IRA-10D - for DPMS, the IRA-10A, for Armalite series. None of those receiver sets worked, and all the sets were straight from Iron Ridge Arms. They just didn't have the Large Frame AR figured out. That sucks, too, because those were gorgeous receivers... for wall-hangers... Soup Sandwich, completely, in operation. They were fuckin' BEAUTIFUL receiver sets. They just didn't work. Long story short, get your uppers and lowers from the same company, from a REPUTABLE company with a proven track history. I don't spend your money, but I get on here just about every day and figure out the problems with these things. When I tell you about the money involved to figure out your gun, that's when the shiit starts. It's not our fault, here, as members of this place. We've just about seen it all, though. Spend your money wisely. Ask questions first, before blowing up your credit card.
  14. Welcome aboard - I think you're gonna be fine with the recoil system. The listed gas port diameter is damn close. All of these are slightly different, and I've seen 18" rifle gas .308s with 0.750" journal diameters need a gas port diameter up to 0.096" before. Start that adjustable gas block wide open, when you do start lighting it up. You're on a great track with it, man - stay the course, see what it does like that, with the parts you have now.
  15. That doesn't suck, man - better shooting than some of the people I was in the Army with...
  16. Start her on some other caliber besides .308 Win, but one that's sufficient enough to take elk, at ethical distances. 6.5 Grendel in a small-frame AR, .243 Win or .260 Rem (or 6.5 Creedmoor) will all have less felt recoil than the .308 Win cartridge. All of those can take an elk, within the proper ranges for them.
  17. Have you shot .243 Win through it? The lower receivers are usually stamped for the main cartridge that the rifle was built for. Age of the lower plays a big part here, with more modern lowers simply marked "Multi," for multi-caliber. The main concern for you is what is the stamping on the barrel(?)... That determines the caliber for the (these) large-frame ARs. Irregardless of what's stamped or engraved into the lower receiver, the primary focus is what the barrel markings state.
  18. This could potentially stir some shiit...
  19. So, Ballistic Advantage opened up the 22 ARC ordering today, received the email whilst at work this afternoon. I ordered the 18" rifle gas SPR barrel (big shock to everyone here, I know... ) tonight once I got home. The listing yesterday stated that everything was out of stock, and shipping would be in 4 to 6 weeks. A bunch of the barrel profile listings today were listed as "In Stock," but at the bottom, it still stated shipping in 4 to 6 weeks. We'll see. It's either in stock like it changed to today, and I might get a tracking number in a couple days... Or I might get the tracking number in 4 to 6 weeks. Time will tell.
  20. @JBMatt finalized his new .300 Win Mag loads today (I'm pretty sure he settled on the best one), so we'll be back out there this coming weekend, testing them out. Gonna do some "site improvements" whilst dabbling with the Nautical Mile... Pics to follow, once complete.
  21. Eric @Cunuckgaucho - you dabble in this? I know you dabble in tunnels, but this is wild...
  22. This mangy fucker was coming for Dani and Mike smoked it 10 yards out, closing fast. Great work @Magwa!!! Song Dog Down. Nice reaction skills, brother!
  23. That fucker Yote was gunnin' for his squirrel dog, Dani! Head on a pike. Yote head, on a pike. A warning to the others, when they see it in his area. That was my final answer to him. Nobody puts Dani in a corner...
  24. They need help. They're partying pretty hard, but they're not partying SDTF Hard. They broke some stuff - but not like we break stuff. Roman's Raptor is an example. Whatever they tried to shoot, and blow up, just didn't work. We can fix that for them... I'm just sayin'... I think we need to invite them out...
  25. It ain't the squirrels on the Rez that's coming for him - it's the fuckin' mangy Yotes!
