  1. You shouldn't have to add an adjustable gas block to a 308AR to make the damn thing function. If you do, there's something WRONG with your 308AR... I stand by that, and I've proven that. 5 times over.
  2. You're suppressed. You don't count.
  3. That's what you think - shoot it and you'll think different. Here's my kid, takin' a beatin'. I don't load over that, and everyone here that has been on a shoot has dealt with it. It's MORE than stout, despite what the action can take - and it's more than an asswhoopin'...
  4. Shall indeed! You did WTF with WHAT?!!? Yeah, that happened... I'm putting this "painting thing" together right now - I'll have pic up in a few more- I promise... This is just cool paint - it doesn't have shiit on what I'm gonna unleash during the Spring Shoot... and freak some fuckers out...
  5. Armalite EA1095 spring - same spring in the 308, carbine and rifle. Eugene Stoner figured that one out. They don't need a different spring, with his design on the carbine recoil system. Why you think I keep preaching those parts?
  6. I'm in. I'll eat that recoil, all day. My loads are 405gr silver-cast under 50.0gr 3031, through the 45-70. That's the "light load." I'll punish your shoulder with it. One of these days, you need to make the trek to a shoot out here. You'll fit in with the crowd. Adjustable gas blocks on 308ARs are for weenies. 308bolts recoil harder, and that's what real men grew up with.
  7. To be even more blunt - you shouldn't need any adjustable gas block to get a functioning weapon - it's only there to be more "comfortable" and that's about it. I hate all the talk about the "mandatory adjustable gas block" on a 308AR. I have 5 of these things, not one of them has an adjustable gas block, and they all function fine. They ain't harsh on recoil, they don't kick the shiit out of me, and they work. Are we in a competition here, where we're making money shooting? Sponsors are gonna drop us because our scores were too low last round in the series? No. Come shoot my 45-70,and see what recoil feels like. And those are mild loads...
  8. Adjustable gas blocks shouldn't be necessary for proper rifle function, not in the least... That's candy... He just went with a heavier buffer, from standard 3oz carbine to rifle buffer. Something else might be going on,but if the rifle is functioning, I wouldn't even be worried about some ejection-pattern BS on it.
  9. OUt of the oven, and cooling! YES!!!
  10. Here's the last one I painted - not telling you bastards what it is until the Spring Shoot. The first ones that will find out will be the ones that show up. You guys will get the reveal on it during the AAR of the shoot... Blow some fucking minds, this will...
  11. Fuk me. I'm gonna trip and fall, and wind my a$s up in one of these. It just sucks. Just got a notification on a pre-order on a badass barrel, and a badass BCG to go with it. FML.
  12. Sneak peak for you, brother...
  13. Cerakote, my mix. Can't buy it. I'm a fucking ninja with this shiit, brother.

Holy shiit... When you start watching this one, don't laugh - this is BADASS!!!
  15. Painted, baking now. You fuckers better appreciate this - it ain't easy painting in the dark, with a headlamp...
  16. Silly question, but... RIFLE buffer, right? You switch from a carbine system to rifle system, complete? 308AR rifle buffers are 5.200" long, for DPMS and Armalite=based recoil systems, so it doesn't matter which one you grabbed, honestly. You also went from about a 3oz buffer to a 5 1/2 oz buffer. That should have slowed down your recoil impulse. I don't care about those clock-charts, that show which direction brass is ejecting, and all the voodoo it means. I care THAT brass is ejecting, and my rifle functions.
  17. Yep, working on it. Pics tonight.
  18. I doubt it - but they might have held everything up if they're building a run of complete rifles, just to make sure they have everything they need.
  19. Once you find your final recipe for accuracy, make sure you retest the load with the crimp on there, and see if it's still performing like you want - crimping will change the neck tension slightly, and neck tension does affect accuracy.
  20. Lug width, lug length, amount of taper (would be tough to measure, but visible differences between the two could be seen). Distance from where the lug ends to the breech face. Can't think of much else.
  21. Dig in. All we did was measure BCGs and bolts - you are in a situation to provide information on the barrel extension internal dynamics.
  22. Somewhere in the General Section - it's probably several pages back now...
