  1. That's damn cool, brother!!!
  2. In the video, the extractor let go of that spent case. Bunch of possible causes for that (jacked up extractor or extractor spring, over gassed, etc.).
  3. Get the specs on your recoil system up here first. Internal length of the receiver extension - internal length, the depth of the tube - buffer length (and weight, if known), and the spring dimensions (relaxed length, coil count, wire diameter if possible). Gotta start there. Double feeds. Just a word on those. They are commonly misdiagnosed. If you have a true double feed (two live rounds trying to enter the chamber at the same time), it is ALWAYS mag related. Always.
  4. I couldn't believe that whole thread. It was painful to read...
  5. Well, I don't really hate the palm trees, just trimming them. It sucks. I've got 2 in the backyard, one is pretty big and the other is a runt. It's been a minute since I trimmed the dead palm fronds off them. I got 9 off the little one. I had to take 54 dead palm fronds off the big one. Anyone that has trimmed one will tell you this is true - that thing tore me up. ^^^ I got a little crazy with the sawzall, and got a live one. That pissed me off... vvv These things are like shark-jaw sawblades of death...
  6. Completely true. AR-10 Carbine system directly uses the AR15 H3 carbine buffer, 3.250" long. ^^^ Real Armalite parts, I'm talking about. DPMS-based 308 carbine recoil systems use a 2.500" long buffer thats light as hell from the factory, and nowhere near an H3-weighted buffer.
  7. That may be what's needed. I see how it takes down/splits. Not necessarily a lower vise block, but at lease a magwell stand that you can lock in a vise and work on the lower once it's split. Or the upper half, when attached to the lower half. Might be the only way - I don't see how it would be practical to have someone manufacture a clamshell-type set of vise blocks for this.
  8. His feet are fucking UGE, brother. I hope he fills them out, or he'll trip over them his whole life. He's got a stout set of getaway sticks on him, that's for sure.
  9. Message sent...
  10. Looks like they are!!! Right here in Chandler!!! That's 20-ish minutes from town, and about 45 minutes from the Secret Desert Test Facility!!! Maybe I can get them to bring this thing out for the Spring Shoot... I'll run it and see what it does, and we can take it out at distance, shoot it short range, whatever...
  11. Fuk me. This little jackass is changing everyday, and getting bigger everyday. I don't know what he came from, besides some Pit in the momma, but he's really starting to show some signs of GS in him. I might be doomed here, depending on how big he really gets... GS spot on his cheek, and everything...
  12. Yes, I called that cadence many a time, my brother. I will sing it loudly around the campfire this spring, capture video, and announce it proudly here for you, in your honor...
  13. Good troll, Mister Lee. You done velly well. Go redesign that abortion...
  14. Nevermind, I found it. There IS NO vice block that's gonna work on this thing, because it doesn't have a "lower..." What the hell you gonna do with that, and need vice blocks?... http://www.kmarms.com/M17S308.html
  15. What the hell is that? Pics, please...
  16. Damn Viking Bastard, ya are! You scare me, brother...
  17. You have one friend, and it's a "her"... I can see your fiance getting pissed off about that...
  18. Ah, fuk me - what question are you talking about?...
  19. Hey @Hotwrench, I see you lurking the 300BLK section, but you need to check this post out, above ^^^
  20. Here man, try this - download it. This is an "updated version" from October 2012... AAC-AR-Manual-OCT_2012.pdf (Got that fucker on THIS hard drive now... )
  21. Probably, on a hard drive on a long-lost computer. In the garage. All it was, was AAC's version of an operations manual, kinda like what you get from Remington when you buy a new rifle or shotgun. Much less info in it than what a -10 manual was for the military. Shiit. You're the first person to notice that the link is dead. I never knew.

This is a screamin' deal, by the way. You'll drip $40 just for the receiver extension, and about another $40 for the H3 buffer, at most retailers. The spring is anywhere from $5 to $15. I've always pieced mine together - I wish I'd known this before... NOTE - I was replying to this when you posted above - not really any known mags to steer away from - besides early DPMS (genuine) 19-rd steel mags. Early ones had feedlip issues. Don't buy them used unless you know they're new, or want to diagnose feed problems and adjust feed lips.

Lancers are the top of the pile, IMHO. Nothing better for a Large Frame 308 (or varient). MagPuls don't fail, either. Depends on how much you want to spend, honestly. You can get 2 MagPuls for every Lancer. I have a bunch of the MagPuls, but I still prefer the Lancers.
  24. Holy shiit! That thing is furry as hell!!! The cat is pretty hairy, too!
  25. I didn't like that it was mushy in operation, and went together like it was cheaply made. I think I stripped a screw in one of the arms, but I won't take it out to find out - until it falls out. I didn't put it together with any more force than I've put together over a dozen BADASS setups, either.
