Looks like the bolt was rotating as designed, during rearward travel, and contacted that round. The distance between scratches supports that - match the bolt lugs up to the distance between those scratches and see if that's the deal. That piece of brass with the dent directly on the shoulder? I'd get rid of that one. I'll normally see dents in 5.56 brass - and just chamber them and shoot it - let the "fire-forming" take that dent right out. I wouldn't do that with the one you're showing...

If that was truly the case, Mark LaRue wouldn't have invested the time or R&D to make a complete LaRue rifle out of this cartridge. Honestly, if it sucked on a gas gun, you wouldn't be able to hop on that website and buy one right now. It's already done.

^^^ That's good - eliminates the bolt catch. The AP bolt catch is slightly different than all the others out there.

Gas port diameter as well - but I kinda doubt that on a BA barrel. What bolt catch did you use in this build?

Why, yes - that would be excellent! Fit and Finish, lens clarity, how you like the reticle - groups, box test, ease of adjustments, accuracy of adjustments! That would be wonderful, brother! That would make a good review, but I don't think we've had one that detailed before, that originated with The Rule.

This doesn't look problematic, at all - it's all the same things you have to know/do/buy/tweak to build a fully functioning .308AR in .308 Win.

Make sure you take measurements, as well. Those are more important than pic. What kind of receiver extension? Fixed stock or collapsible stock, rifle or carbine... Buffer length. Buufer spring relaxed length. Number of coils on the buffer spring. Wire diameter of buffer spring wire, if possible. This sounds like a buffer that's not right...

That's the red Loc-Tite 271 you're talking about. 242 is the blue stuff. Both are for securing fasteners. There's so damn many types of Loc-Tite it's not even funny.

If you guys catch the FC (Federal Cartridge) headstamp, have spare decapping pins ready... If one of them breaks a decapping pin, be prepared for one of two things: cutting some crimp for quite awhile, or throw that bitch away right then...

This right here is not a disconnector issue - what did you have to do to the gas tube, as you stated below? Just trying to figure out this whole thing in my head...

TactiCat has his own camo, though - tiger stripe camo. TactiCat will straight fuk a dog up. He hates dogs. With a passion. I have to watch him when I let him out back - as soon as he gets out of the Patrol Base, he's ready for action, and he'll go over the east wall of the compound after dogs. I went straight through all 4 of them - good stuff. Pleasure to "meet" Josh, finally, and now Mike. They've got it right, and used the terminology "308AR" when referencing the Large Frame ARs. They knows what's up. It's awesome to see barrel manufacturers talking about this stuff, finally. First the stuff from Nathan @ Faxon, and now this collection from CBI - all of it is invaluable information. Excellent work, gentlemen. I think CBI is using this Loc-Tite 609 in the way that its intended - but for firearms. It's for sealing bearings onto shafts, or into housings. It fills a gap of up to 0.005", and makes the bearing more "solid" in an otherwise "loose" mount. Bearings will last longer, because they're in a more solid mount, and won't suffer as much from vibration - which WILL kill bearings. In the firearms-use instance, it's being used to create a solid bridge between a barrel and upper receiver, if such a need is there. Tight barrels-into-receivers won't need this. If you can drop your barrel right into your receiver, I can see this helping - cut down vibration. Vibration is harmonics. I can see this stuff working, for exactly what they're using it for, and I'm going to try it on the Mk12 Mod 1. I'll even try it on the 13.5" 308 3-Gun carbine. I'll shoot both first, get those barrels worn in, and get accuracy groups. I'll take them apart, use the 609, and get more accuracy groups. I'm saying now, though - the Mk12 Mod 1 barrel is a tight fit in the AP upper receiver...
