I don't know if the 77gr projectiles would do "well" in that barrel, but they might. Typically, I'd give the recommendation to not shoot that combo, because you should need a 1:7" or 1:8" twist to properly stabilize the 75s and 77s. I put quotes around "well" above - your rifle will shoot them, for certain - you typically wouldn't get the accuracy out of them with a 10-twist that you would with 7 or 8... However... I've got this sneaky feeling that YOUR rifle would shoot 75s and 77s with great accuracy, and here's where that feeling comes from. First, it's an Olympic Arms barrel, which are notoriously accurate (really, not making a joke - people that dog Oly obviously have never shot one of their barrels). Second, it's not just the "regular" Oly barrel, it's the Ultra Match barrel, and those things are RIDICULOUSLY ACCURATE. Third, you're working with 24" of barrel... I think that thing would do pretty damn great with some 75s and 77s. I really do. Just a feeling, and that would go against normal recommendations for ammo-for-twist combinations. Now I kinda want to see it. If you want, I'll ship you out a T&E care package of Hornady 75gr HPBTs and Sierra 77gr OTMs for loading... I've gotten a very, very slight accuracy edge with the Hornady 75s over the 77 SMKs, so I primarily only load the Hornadys anymore...

Collapsible stock or fixed stock? I know I warned you about Armalite AR-10 parts a few posts ago, but the AR-10 Carbine recoil system is damn reliable, and will work on your build. IF you're doing a collapsible stock setup. Armalite AR-10 Carbine receiver extension (longer than the AR-15 receiver extension, which is commonly used in 308 builds). Armalite EA1095 buffer spring. Armalite AR-10 Carbine buffer, which is really just any old AR-15 H3 Carbine buffer. Add collapsible mil-spec sized stock of choice.

Ramshot Tac is a very good powder for loading heavy 5.56 cartridges. I used to use it for the 75 and 77gr loads, then switched to Varget (then, couldn't find it for a few years), and ultimately switched to RL-15. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up more Tac for the 5.56 heavies, at all - I just don't look for it when I'm picking up powder. Tac gets the 77gr SMKs to 2750fps with ease. H3 weights on a 308 AR run the gun fine, don't have excessive recoil, and don't beat up the gun's internals or parts. You should find that the 308 rifle buffer weighs the same (or very close) to the H3. Gas port size in the barrel is going to have more to do with this than the buffer weight. If you can get a chance, measure the gas port size and let us know. 16" barrel with rifle gas should have a gas port size right around 0.100".

I'm liking the H335 results, brother!!! With 3lbs of it on hand, I'm going to have to load some of this up. I've got about 200 or 225 of the 90 GameKings left, that I was going to load with the RL-7. I need to rezero the new scope, and check that thing out to 400 yards. I might will brave it this weekend, and get my a$s out there early, before the heat comes... Can't wait to see the targets,specifically the H335 groups, even if not ideal. Willgive me a frame of reference on the increasing charge weights. I like the speed you're getting from them. I need to keep my speeds up, for this thing to have the punch I want at 400. I want it to make some exploding coyotes for me...

And the tax has apparently brought in much less than city leaders projected it would. “How much data do you need?” asked Dave Workman, senior editor of TheGunMag.com and member of the Second Amendment Foundation. “The data says the law has failed to prevent what they promised it would prevent.” Seattle City Councilman Tim Burgess introduced the tax in 2015. It puts a $25 tax on every firearm sold in the city and up to 5 cents per round of ammunition. The measure easily passed and took effect January 1, 2016. Comparing the first five months of 2017 with the same period before the gun tax went into effect, reports of shots fired are up 13 percent, the number of people injured in shootings climbed 37 percent and gun deaths doubled, according to crime statistics from the Seattle Police Department. Councilman Burgess never returned calls and emails for comment. Dana Robinson Slote, director of communication for Seattle City Council, said she was “politely declining your invitation for an interview.” In selling his gun tax to the public, Burgess predicted it would generate between $300,000 and $500,000 annually. The money would be used to study the root causes of gun violence in hopes of reducing the costs to taxpayers. Seattle officials refuse to say how much the tax brought in the first year, only giving the number “under $200,000.” Gun rights groups have sued to get the exact amount. But Mike Coombs, owner of Outdoor Emporium, the last large gun dealer left in Seattle, said the actual tax revenue is almost certainly just over $100,000, a figure based on information he says the city shared with his lawyers. So, an AR15 midlength gas tube will be 11 3/4" long. The Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube is 12 1/16" long. On my WC .338 Fed barrel, it was stated as a midlength gas system. I put the standard AR15 midlength gas tube in it first. It was a little short, but not like some of the stuff we've seen lately. Before, it was pretty obvious that you have the wrong gas tube in a rifle, as the end of the tube would barely reach the cutout for the cam pin, in the upper receiver. On my barrel, the end of the gas tube went into the area for the cam pin cutout, but not to the middle if it, as we're used to seeing. End of the gas tube right in the middle of the cam pin cutout is standard stuff on AR15s, and used to be standard stuff on the Big ARs... It functioned fine. I just didn't like it. I ordered up another Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube, and installed it. Now, the end of the gas tube extends slightly beyond the center of the cam pin cutout in the upper. It doesn't bottom in the gas key on the BCG, and functions fine. Check your stuff, closely. If you haven't ordered the gas tube yet, I'd recommend the Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube for your barrel, if WC is making the 308 barrel gas ports like the .338 Fed barrels - and I'd bet they are. This is kind of a "middle ground" on gas port position on the barrel. Either tube will work, and the rifle will function. Nathan at Faxon Firearms touched on this in another thread. You will have a longer gas impluse imparted onto the BCG with the Armalite part, and you will have more functionality with a greater range of factory loads and ammo with it.
