It's bombproof. later, down the road, would be when to remove it should you choose, but for now it's a very, very solid setup. You'll need a 9" handguard setup, or a midlength setup, in order to fit it on the rifle and keep the front sight.

Nope, not at all. It'll all make sense when it's mounted up. Once you're running the red dot, you won't even notice the front sight in the picture. That MI rail is solid enough that I'd try to beat someone to death with it. It's a good system. $165 retail for the midlength. However, ... The Centurian C4 rail would be ABSOLUTELY SICK on that upper... :hethan:

Could be Accurate #9. That powder is listed in the Hornady 9th Edition manual in almost all the 300BLK loads. Charge weight is a little less than what you have listed, but the powder looks very, very similar.

That's easy - when you coming back? <lmao> One the 300BLK, I don't have the rear sight on there - that rifle isn't really "finished" yet. The rear sight will clear easily, though, with the size of that scope. Running irons through a scope is a PITA, unless it's a true 1x on low power. It's rough on 1.5x power. At 3x power, your frint sight isn't even visible in the lens - the scope is already focused beyond where that front sight is mounted. On some scopes, it's even less than 3x that you lose visibility of the front sight. On anything I have that has irons and magnified optics, the optics have QD mounts. If I need the optic out of the way, I probably need it out of the way quickly and easily. I have some QD one-piece mounts, but if I'm using rings, it's only the Warne Maxima steel QD rings. <thumbsup> EDIT - I intentionally selected that picture of the scope, in order to be a more effective enabler... :banana:

If bench-only shooting was/is the goal, the Hi-Speed Match is more in order. You're pretty far down in the limits of the DMR right now.

^^^ Seems more important, squared receiver face. I do have two Rainier Billet UltraMatch upper receivers on two rifles, and both those rifles shoot the lights out. One is Woody, the other is the ARF billet lower-built 14.5" carbine. That's the one we shoot to 600 yards with the red dot. Rainier's info on that is: The most critical features are: Parallelism between the picatinny rail, main center bore and the centerline of the mounting lugs Perpendicularity between the centerline of the lugs and the barrel mating face (at the front of the threads) Flatness of the barrel mating face We are holding .0003 or better on all of those measurements. Competitor uppers are between .001 and .003 on the perpendicularity and parallelism. That's much more important than pounding the barrel into the upper, or using a heatgun to get the thing in there. Loc-Tite... No way in hell.

I've never had to use a hairdryer or heatgun to fit a barrel into an upper receiver. I've got 16 of these things, and built even more for other people.

I've yet to see a barrel that "falls" into an upper receiver. Never seen a "loose" fit on any. I don't know - have you? <dontknow> Heavier hammer springs affect lock time. Something preached by David Tubb. Reduce lock time, increase accuracy. That doesn't affect accuracy more than having a good barrel and good trigger, though.
