Processed range brass today. Tumbled/resized/primed alot. 5.56 brass x 335 pieces primed, .308 Win x 40 pieces primed, 30-06 x 100 pieces primed, 300BLK x 60 pieces primed, 45-70 x 80 pieces fully loaded. The 45-70 was the only thing I dropped powder on today, and finished. Everything else is bagged and tagged, ready for powder and projos. All this stuff was in a box, as range brass, and I'm damn tired. <lmao>

I should be making a commission... <lmao>

The only magnifier I have is a 3x Burris AR Tripler, that I nailed on a $69 sale. Damn sweet magnifier, and that price couldn't be beat, even if it was double that. With PA's reputation, you can't make a mistake picking up their magnifier, brother. Seriously. If you have an issue with it, Marshall will take care of you.

Brings a tear to my eye - I think I've corrupted you in some manner or another... :'( This makes me happy...

Primary Arms micro red dot, 2MOA dot. I haven't been able to kill one yet, and have 5 or 6 of them. $hit, I might have more than that, but I'm not gonna go count them. I'll be getting another one for the 45-70 to try out, and see if that will kill one. I'll be telling Marshall about it up front, and letting him know what I intend to do to it... https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arms_s/586.htm

^^^ That's the key in this platform - and the M16/M4/AR15 platform. Barrel and trigger. Uppers and lowers have been a non-factor in accuracy, to a great point. One doesn't affect the other (upper and lower) as far as accuracy is concerned. Well, provided they fit the basics like they should, and the damn rifle functions, like it should.

So, if this is LE only, how are you going to explain me being there? P.S. When you said "Blue Rhino," I was thinking about the LPG company - gas bottles! I want to blow one up now! <lmao>

My DPMS AR-308K build (Long)
98Z5V replied to kd5zmg's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Ah! I see I've been tripped up by nomenclature change! Everything is a "Hi-Speed National Match" now. With -DMR, -Match, and -Service added on the end. My fault, man. By "smooth," I'm meaning "not gritty, not jerky, easy transition..." As far as "soft," that's in how you set the pull weight. You shouldn't have a gritty or jerky first stage, and it should feel better than the "smooth" pull of your S3G. Which shouldn't be gritty or jerky, either. The S3G is a single stange 3.5# pull. The first stage on your DMR, at less weight, should definitely be different, and much more smooth. -

My Hi-Speed DMR first stage is smoother than my S3G. Yours should be also. You've mixed up a couple triggers here. Geissele makes 3 Hi-Speed models. 1. Hi-Speed National Match. 2. Hi-Speed DMR. 3. Hi-Speed Service. Which one did you buy? Doesn't matter which Hi-Speed you are running, your first stage should be a little smoother than your S3G trigger. -

Should be buttery smooth through the first stage, all the way to the second stage stop. The Super Tricon will feel just like the SSA and G2S. Same trigger, different curve to the trigger shoe. -
Read this to make your determination: Might require you calling the manufacturer, and finding our what their specs are, as it pertains to that ^^^ information. EDIT - Thread started 4.5 years ago...

Before Freedom Group, after Freedom Group doesn't really matter. Bushmaster has a pretty decent track record of foreign military contracts, both before and after that acquisition. You're forgetting the mid-90s days, when everything that wasn't "ABC" was $hit. Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt. If it wasn't one of those, is was $hit. Bushmaster doesn't put out a bad product. I can see The Chart coming now, and the eternal ramblings of one certain fellow that started his own board...

Bob, you're on the good end of that deal, and that is awesome - the LW barrels really are great shooting barrels. I'd never try to take that away from them, or bad-talk the quality of their barrels, in any way. One deal like the lying that Matt got, and the bull$hit they tried to give him - the run-around - nope, not me. I can't believe how patient Matt was throught he whole ordeal. I would have blown an a$s-gasket much earlier than that, and been "that a$shole customer." I'm glad you got what you ordered, and the timeframe is awesome. You did well in that deal, and really, no kidding - enjoy that barrel. It will treat you well. <thumbsup>

I've been unfuckingbelievably lucky in my life - I shouldn't even be typing right now... Truth... SS, whenever you have those "flying detent woes," don't let it raise your blood pressure - I have hundreds that I can send you. Just let me know... My spare parts/build stash is IMMENSE... <lmao>

^^^ Arizona welcomes you, my man. <thumbsup>

Bushmaster has been the sole-source provider for many militaries - just not the US Military. They were no slouch with foreign military contracts.

Or, a complete lower. Not talking about a built lower receiver here - the entire bottom of the AR - a full lower can be transferred as SBR on the ATF Form 4. Can't do that with a stripped lower receiver, though. Not legal.

I love watching this news develop every winter - brother, you've posted this every winter, and it keeps getting faster and faster. Badass accomplishment, and an awesome topic - once again. <thumbsup>

My XD-45 is the daily carry now, for a couple years. I went with the Springer Precision extended mag release (XD Specialists - not available to Glock Fags... <lmao>). Just try an extended release and see if it works for you - if it doesn't, there are other companies out there that will offer a slightly different design, and you can try that. I think they're worth it - if it helps you be a more efficient pistoleer. Mine is extended 0.100" over the stock length. Looks like it's a yardstick hanging off the side of the pistol, but it's not. It makes a difference. <thumbsup>

I need to give him a call about paint. I'll get that done, and tell him he needs to get his a$s back in here... <lmao>
-
I see no need then - when you can beat the old version off a cinderblock, and crush it with the barrel. It's tough enough. <thumbsup>

I believe we've had a problem with LW here before - delivery of paid-for product. If I'm wrong, I'll modify/delete this. EDIT - I thought my memory served me correctly - ^^^ Based on that situation, and shitty customer service, they'll never get a recommendation from me, and never see a penny of my money. Wouldn't matter if they shoot 0.001" groups at a million yards. I'm glad yours worked out - hell, I'll glad you even got a barrel. Not happening in this house, though. Your rifle is damn nice, though - very well done. <thumbsup>

^^^ Showoff... <lmao>

Anchored that beast into the ground, huh? <lmao> That's some pretty innovative use of "your equipment..." I say, "Job well hung done..." <laughs> Drew will be jealous when he sees this thread...

Holy Shat, that is cool. Those guys are awesome. <thumbsup>
