  1. Excellent info, and thanks for the response. <thumbsup>
  2. Could be Accurate #9. That powder is listed in the Hornady 9th Edition manual in almost all the 300BLK loads. Charge weight is a little less than what you have listed, but the powder looks very, very similar.
  3. That's easy - when you coming back? <lmao> One the 300BLK, I don't have the rear sight on there - that rifle isn't really "finished" yet. The rear sight will clear easily, though, with the size of that scope. Running irons through a scope is a PITA, unless it's a true 1x on low power. It's rough on 1.5x power. At 3x power, your frint sight isn't even visible in the lens - the scope is already focused beyond where that front sight is mounted. On some scopes, it's even less than 3x that you lose visibility of the front sight. On anything I have that has irons and magnified optics, the optics have QD mounts. If I need the optic out of the way, I probably need it out of the way quickly and easily. I have some QD one-piece mounts, but if I'm using rings, it's only the Warne Maxima steel QD rings. <thumbsup> EDIT - I intentionally selected that picture of the scope, in order to be a more effective enabler...
  4. IT WAS 70 DEGREES OUT THERE!!! <lmao>
  5. That makes me miss Tourette's Guy...
  6. No comment from "The Weathered-In Boys," Mike... I figured they would have nutted up and posted in here again... <lmao>
  7. Damn you guys...
  8. Have him sign up and start a thread. We'll get him pretty quick, I bet... <lmao>
  9. If bench-only shooting was/is the goal, the Hi-Speed Match is more in order. You're pretty far down in the limits of the DMR right now.
  10. I feel I can be of assitance here... <lmao> beach, you already shot it. You know what you need. Mark AR Mod 1 is the scope, in the magnification you stated. Leupold Custom Shop will make the 7.62 turret for you. Comes in at much less than $600, even full retail. Done. <laughs>
  11. This guy is awesome...
  12. Yeah, brother! Get after 'em! Right on... <thumbsup>
  13. ^^^ Seems more important, squared receiver face. I do have two Rainier Billet UltraMatch upper receivers on two rifles, and both those rifles shoot the lights out. One is Woody, the other is the ARF billet lower-built 14.5" carbine. That's the one we shoot to 600 yards with the red dot. Rainier's info on that is: The most critical features are: Parallelism between the picatinny rail, main center bore and the centerline of the mounting lugs Perpendicularity between the centerline of the lugs and the barrel mating face (at the front of the threads) Flatness of the barrel mating face We are holding .0003 or better on all of those measurements. Competitor uppers are between .001 and .003 on the perpendicularity and parallelism. That's much more important than pounding the barrel into the upper, or using a heatgun to get the thing in there. Loc-Tite... No way in hell.
  14. I've never had to use a hairdryer or heatgun to fit a barrel into an upper receiver. I've got 16 of these things, and built even more for other people.
  15. I'll help, brother...
  16. I've yet to see a barrel that "falls" into an upper receiver. Never seen a "loose" fit on any. I don't know - have you? <dontknow> Heavier hammer springs affect lock time. Something preached by David Tubb. Reduce lock time, increase accuracy. That doesn't affect accuracy more than having a good barrel and good trigger, though.
  17. Processed range brass today. Tumbled/resized/primed alot. 5.56 brass x 335 pieces primed, .308 Win x 40 pieces primed, 30-06 x 100 pieces primed, 300BLK x 60 pieces primed, 45-70 x 80 pieces fully loaded. The 45-70 was the only thing I dropped powder on today, and finished. Everything else is bagged and tagged, ready for powder and projos. All this stuff was in a box, as range brass, and I'm damn tired. <lmao>
  18. I should be making a commission... <lmao>
  19. The only magnifier I have is a 3x Burris AR Tripler, that I nailed on a $69 sale. Damn sweet magnifier, and that price couldn't be beat, even if it was double that. With PA's reputation, you can't make a mistake picking up their magnifier, brother. Seriously. If you have an issue with it, Marshall will take care of you.
  20. Brings a tear to my eye - I think I've corrupted you in some manner or another... :'( This makes me happy...
  21. Primary Arms micro red dot, 2MOA dot. I haven't been able to kill one yet, and have 5 or 6 of them. $hit, I might have more than that, but I'm not gonna go count them. I'll be getting another one for the 45-70 to try out, and see if that will kill one. I'll be telling Marshall about it up front, and letting him know what I intend to do to it... https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arms_s/586.htm
  22. ^^^ That's the key in this platform - and the M16/M4/AR15 platform. Barrel and trigger. Uppers and lowers have been a non-factor in accuracy, to a great point. One doesn't affect the other (upper and lower) as far as accuracy is concerned. Well, provided they fit the basics like they should, and the damn rifle functions, like it should.
  23. So, if this is LE only, how are you going to explain me being there? P.S. When you said "Blue Rhino," I was thinking about the LPG company - gas bottles! I want to blow one up now! <lmao>
  24. Ah! I see I've been tripped up by nomenclature change! Everything is a "Hi-Speed National Match" now. With -DMR, -Match, and -Service added on the end. My fault, man. By "smooth," I'm meaning "not gritty, not jerky, easy transition..." As far as "soft," that's in how you set the pull weight. You shouldn't have a gritty or jerky first stage, and it should feel better than the "smooth" pull of your S3G. Which shouldn't be gritty or jerky, either. The S3G is a single stange 3.5# pull. The first stage on your DMR, at less weight, should definitely be different, and much more smooth.
  25. My Hi-Speed DMR first stage is smoother than my S3G. Yours should be also. You've mixed up a couple triggers here. Geissele makes 3 Hi-Speed models. 1. Hi-Speed National Match. 2. Hi-Speed DMR. 3. Hi-Speed Service. Which one did you buy? Doesn't matter which Hi-Speed you are running, your first stage should be a little smoother than your S3G trigger.
