I have shot an Ar15 in competition and have two uppers plus a .22LR unit.

I thought it would be nice to have another  lower and wound up with the Colt .308, both my AR15 uppers fit and my .22LR unit. I have fallen in love with the LE901 because it doesn't beat me up like the M1A I had. I'm an iron sight shooter and the short sight radius is not good for old eyes. I would like to put on a longer bbl. Talked to Colt and the person said in a nice way they do not sell parts. As you can see from the picture with an extra bbl extension and nut it would be easy to switch bbls without taking off the gas block. If anyone has some connections at Colt or any supplyer that makes bbl extensions use your influence and help me out.

Welcome from Florida.

I'm a little confused, are you saying your AR15 uppers fit your Colt 308 lower ?

The Colt CM901 has a mag well adapter that allows you to swap from large format to small format. The adapter is pricey, but allows a shooter to quickly swap from .22lr all the way through to .308 sized loads.

The CM901 seems like an anomaly... but there may be an easy answer.

The fact that AR15 uppers fit and function shows that the dimensions rear of the magazine well are identical to the AR15 and not the LR308 or AR10. The new DPMS Gen ii boasts that it too has AR15 dimensions rear of the magazine well.

It's quite possible that the CM901 is compatible with the new Gen ii upper? Especially since they use the same magazines...

I'd search out someone local to you, or see if a LGS will let you play musical-uppers, and try to fit a DPMS Gen ii upper on your CM901.
