Had a couple of customers bring in their big guns in to compare...

A 50 Beowolf and a 458 Socom. The Socom is more impressive !

Both are like fingers. Reloading price per round is over $2.50 each.

The Socom had a suppresser on a 12.5 " barrel just a cooler setup.

The .458 always seemed like a passover cartridge.

If you want power and ammo cost isn't an issue, buy the .50 Beo...

If you want power and ammo cost IS an issue, the .450 BM uses regular pistol proj's.

I've done the .458 SOCOM and a .50 AE.

Sold off the .458 and kept the .50 AE.

One down side I have found with the AE is that it is real particular about the ammo it shoots and different manufactures of ammo have different size rims on their casings.

Because of that I broke an extractor and had to replace it.

Overall, I like the .50 AE and it has a good punch to it coming out of a 16" barrel.

50 AE or 50 Beowulf?  I've never seen an AR in .50 Action Express, that'd be sweet.
On the other hand, I haven't been able to find the video for years, but I remember there used to be a video on the You-Tubes of someone blowing up a .50 Beowulf AR at a range.  The magazine blows to pieces, the receivers separate, and you can see the hole a bullet put in the awning above the shooter about 4 feet at a 45 degree angle.  Anyone else remember that?
