What type of Mag do I need?

There is NO 30 round Armalite mag. The common one is the 20 round steel mag. If you have a steel mag at all......then you have a B model (more than likely). Then.....I say congratulations....carry on. You can get 5 and 10 round mags off of Armalite's website (or other aftermarket site's).

If you have a plastic mag.....then you have an A model.

If these are the mags that work then you have a B model. You need Armalite GenII mags.

There is a chance you have an early B model that used modified M-14 mags but judging from the picture of the mags you posted I doubt that but it may have been updated to accept the GenII's. Should be more info on the rifle somewhere, they use a code for the model.

if it's an older model you may have to have the bolt catch replaced for the GenII mags to hold the bolt open... the new upgraded bolt catch is not expensive and easily installed... I was lucky and didn't need to change mine but I have the new part if and when I do...

make sure you call them before you order, when I wanted to pick up a couple last year they just happened to be having a sale think I got 4 20rd for $110... it was quite a savings from the standard pricing...
