Another question, I am going to use the Faxon 20", Heavy Fluted, .308 WIN, Rifle-Length, 416-R Stainless Steel QP. Will I need the rifle or carbine buffer tube??

depends on what buttstock you want...

So to use the rifle buffer this would be the choice, the Magpul PRS® Precision-Adjustable Stock – SR25/M110???

Magpul ACS - carbine buffer

Magpul STR - carbine buffer

Magpul Moe - carbine buffer

Magpul PRS - rifle buffer

The carbine buffer for the 308 is 1 inch shorter than the AR15 carbine buffer.

So it looks like I can use a PRS stock with my rifle buffer. Any advantage between the carbine and rifle buffers??
