bubbasks Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I had a few lowers layin around a decited to knock one out. Kinda went lightweight but wanted to try a few things on a 556 ar so i sacrifised some weight savings. complete basic upper reciever from local shop, oden 16.1 ultralight barrel and gas block, fail zero nib bolt carrier assembly and bolt, AXTS Raptor charging handle, and KX-5. Midwest Industries 15" mlok. Franklin lower with SD-E, off brand grip, ati stock and JP SCS. Got a chance to take out and put 300 rounds of tula 62gr hp and it functioned flawlessly. Shoots great and keeping iron sights on it to help work on my abilities. Total weight is 6lb 2oz so nothing impressive but lightest AR15 I have.
shepp Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Looks good Bubba. So is that normal light weight standard or a giant guy light weight standard
bubbasks Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 Well i hike and hunt with a 14lb 308ar soooo this is a featherlight rifle for me haha.
jtallen83 Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Nice looking rig, hard to get much lighter without spending a fortune on lots of titanium parts. I managed 6 pounds 8 ounces with optic, light, and a P mag on a build for the wife......first thing she said was "It's so heavy"
MikedaddyH Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Damm... Bubba, that is one nice looking rail ! ?
