newbie, need help with a build

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the ar10 scene and I'm looking to get my first.  I've just sold my BCM/Spikes ar15 build and I really wanted to get a sweet ar10(or equivalent).  But, as you probably know, I was torn between the choices.  The LWRC REPR or the Christensen Arms CA-10, are the ones I really fell in love with.  I really like the idea of a lightweight .308 ar with carbon fiber parts, but really loved the side charging handle of the repr.  So, I thought I would research a bit and see if I could build one.  Here come the problems...

First, I'm new to the idea so knowing which parts can go with which, is proving to be a struggle.  I'm lost in the sea of options, and lack the knowledge of knowing which parts are compatible, I gathered that most builds need a matched upper and lower set (correct?) and I was considering the set from American Spirit Arms, but alas, I still don't know what can be used with those parts.  If someone would be so kind as to offer a solution, I would be incredibly grateful.

Would like the overall price (not including optics) to be under 2500, but I can always save up more if need be.  I want a long (13-15 inch) carbon fiber hand guard and 16-18 inch barrel, and then a side charging upper.  Those are really the only things I really care about, unless there is something else I need to worry over.. ??

Thank you, and really looking forward to being a member here!
