98Z5V
Alright, Wash, try the PA scope out, and don't be a pu$sy about it. I guarantee you won't go back - and if you don't like it, I'll buy it off you for full MSRP and your shipping. My PA 1~6 with ACSS reticle is on the .338 Fed - so it's in that thread on the build. That 1~8 PA should be around $380, and the reticle is worth every penny, brother. I did the 1~6 scope with a quickness, only for then-budget reasons, as it was about $100 lower at that time. Love it - LOVE IT. I see this as a win-win - if you don't like the 1~8, I finally get my 1~8... I've just been too lazy to order it!... Give it a shot, brother. I don't think you'll be asking me for money and sending it to me - you'll keep it... Edited May 29, 2017 by 98Z5V

Sisco
As an alternative, Optics Planet is selling the Gen 2 Primary Arms 1x6 for $20 off with free 2 day air shipping. I went on Primary Arms website and found that they have transitioned to the Gen 3 of their 1x6 and raised the price to $289 vs Optics Planet closeout Gen 2 at $249. By the time Primary Arms charges tax, you are at $313 for the Gen 3 versus $249 for Gen 2. at Optics Planet. The Gen 3 is 1.8oz lighter, 10mm shorter, and has 10 MOA more adjustment. I just ordered a Gen 2 as I will probably never see it that cheap again and am not too worried about the Gen 3 upgrades for $64 more dollars. It is going on my M1A and the Scope on that is going on my HBAR.

Sisco
My Primary Arms 1X6 2nd generation just arrived today. The reticle is indeed awesome! Can't wait to shoot it, but rethinking what rifle to mount it on.

Sisco
I see this as blending the best of a red dot and a traditional scope. Leave it on one with the lighted reticle for fast acquisition and kick it up to 6 or 8 for distance work.

That's why I bought it I built my x39 planed on putting their Red dot on it till I saw them post a video of them clearing a house with this optic then shooting distance with it I was SOLD! 98Z5V
Right on, guys - I love the reticle; smart, smart design. FIrst time I had my 4-14 out on a distance shoot, I was with my Gun Pusher, and he put steel out at 2,4,5 and 800 yards. When he was putting in the 800, he couldn't see the trucks because of the ground brush, so he couldn't get a read on the range finder. He called me up and asked if I could see him - sure could, from the berm top around the reservoir. He asked how far out he looked - I returned a question, and said "how wide is that target?" He responds with "18" wide and 36" tall." Perfect... Ranged the width through the scope, and it lined up perfectly with the 800-yard hash mark for 18" width... Tell him, "you're right at 800 yards right now." He comes back from that target drop, hits the top of the berm, puts the range finder on the target and says, "Damn! You were right on! That thing is 807 yards!" I played it off and acted like a badass at range estimation... He was pissed when I pulled a first-round hit on that thing, too... Robocop1051
I have the 1-6x on my 5.56 rifle. It works so well that I ditched my BUIS. I generally suggest the American Defense QD mounts, but that was because I used BUIS. Now I'm thinking fixed PA mounts are much more affordable and a set of off-set irons is a much better setup. Hey Robo ill take a picture of it tomorrow and post it ...this is some trick stuff...factory told me to take a screwdriver and try to scratch it or dig a furrow in the metal with the blade and if that leaves a scratch or mark they will next day air me a new one... okie dokie.... I picked a spot where a bipod would mount...I took em up on that... no marks dents or scratches... they said what really makes it all that is heat dispersal ...they said take a benzomatic torch and heat it up till it glows and it will be perfect after....maybe tomorrow? I dunno, but ive run out of $hit to do,so might as well burn the house down....lol Wash
