And if not, how to afix a collapsible stock in a permanent position. Reason is I was gifted a Bushmaster M4gery upper for Christmas and want to build the lower for it. I believe oden and magpul provide selective length of pull butt stalks. Ive only built the opposite so i may be wrong? and short on better options.. but yes it can be done. (A2 uses the same tube as A1 with a spacer) You can "pin" a carbine setup in place to make it fixed but im not sure what requirements are in place for legality sake. Either setup works on any lower. It takes the 5/8" spacer on the end of the extension to make that happen - and the A2 vented buttstock screw is 5/8" longer than the A1 vented screw. As long as I get the A2 rifle buttstock and rifle extension, a rifle buffer and spring system I get it will work with that carbine gas system, correct? this is I guess what I should have asked in the first place. I went back and reread what I had posted, and instead of an M4gery, it should be and A2 style carbine upper.
