Truth.  Don't have a reason why yet, but I'll find out what the mentality was behind the decision, if they'll tell me,

This stuff pisses me off. You have companies like Barrett doing the opposite,  saying if civilians cant own it, than they wont sell it to LE in that region either.

The higher end FLIR are controlled by ITAR, buddy had to get an export permit for a FLIR unit... wasn't even a scope. This unit is sensitive enough to trace a wire in an insulated wall. Plug a device in to outlet ,give it a couple minutes and then 'photograph' the wall.

Yeah, don't hate them yet, guys - I didn't find out the "why" today, but I have nothing to do tomorrow here, so I'll get to them with the question.  Who knows what the answer will be, could be as simple as "At our price-point for our gear, we only sell about 50 units a year to the .civ market - and we have to downgrade that equipment to make it civilian legal - so it's costing us money."

^^^ALL HYPOTHETICAL, RIGHT THERE - but it really could be that simple.  Lemme get an answer before the Lynch Mob is launched...  Don't be like the Lib "Cancel-Culture" just yet...
