IrishCajun
I'm in need of an inexpensive spiral fluted barrel. If anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
shooterrex
Inexpensive and accurate don't usually show up at the same time. Bear Creek Arsenal makes them.
IrishCajun
Ok, Here is a question that I have, I currently have a 16in barrel with a 1:9 twist. I shoot my 78gr bthp and love the results that I have. How much difference would I see if I went to a 1:7 twist ???
jtallen83
I never could make up my mind so tend to go 1-8, my two most accurate 5.56’s are 1-8’s from Armalite. I have rifles in all three twists but not shooting at any real long range and most likely I am not a good enough shot to see the difference anyway. IrishCajun
So....where would I find a good fluted 5.56 barrel that is 1:8 that I can use as a replacement for the one I have now ???? I'm wanting to replace that A2 sight with a flip up front sight. In order for me to do so, I want to do a fluted free float. This is where I need help. jtallen83
You could order that combination from X-Caliber, don’t tell them I sent you Otherwise just start searching all the different barrel makers for it, might take you some time......... but google is free. IrishCajun
I found that out. I googled them. Anybody know of any others ???
shooterrex
CDNN has a ton of barrels for sale right now. Maybe not fluted. DS Arms has fluted 16" barrels or at least they did when I bought an upper from them about 10 years ago.

So are our site sponsors. You can probably click on the Ballistic Advantage advertiser banner and find something that fits what you're looking for. That will require effort on your part. Get to it. shooterrex
You can take the front sight/gas block off. Install a free float forend and a low profile gas block under the forend.
Armed Eye Doc
Do you really need a spiral flute? That seems kind of specific. Are you looking to reduce weight? Is there a reason that flame fluting would not work?

So I'm guessing I'm wanting an 18.8 in barrel now.
