98Z5V
Any time a bid is made within the last 30 seconds of the auction, the clock resets to 30 seconds. Those thing may NEVER end. Click on an auction, and just watch it tick down... :-[It's great way to gamble, and to waste time, though... If you hang in there, you might get that EOTech EOLAD for $15... <laughs> <thumbsup>
edgecrusher
keep in mind you have to buy bids, which count for pennies in the auction but cost real money. i looked at it, and it is a gamble, worth it if you can pull it off, expensive if you lose. planeflyer21
Yup...my understanding is that your high-bid will be charged to you, even if you don't win the auction, on many sites like this one.Jon
blue109
looks like you either get super lucky or throw money away. i can see someone sitting in front of the screen for hours bumping that penny every 60 seconds hoping to be the one....only to end up loosing by a penny, being charged $150 for absolutely nothing..and then shooting all of his coworkers in a fit of rage and self loathing after a 12hr standoff with police.sign me up :)
unforgiven
Where does the line start >:D
Shaggy
I found a forum that says it is $29 for 30 bids & the cheapest cost per bid is $680 for 1000 bids. That M1A is up to $284.53, so if everyone bidding had the best package, then the company has made $19,348 on the $1,800 rifle & it is still climbing. Shaggy
there is only 7 items at the 30 seconds or less stage, so every user is fighting over those 7 items. No wonder the price gets so high.
blue109
the gamble is that everyone else just might say F it an let someone else bid...and you score something cheap. not likely..
MaDuce
What I think would have been a great, even better idea is if someone started a raffle sight where guns were sold only by raffle. Then a gun could be put up with a list of how many raffle tickets at what price must be sold before the raffle is concluded and have a random entry generator to elect the winner. Then people can spend a fixed amount of $ each week, 2 weeks, month etc. on guns, with the likeliness that they'll probably win sooner or later. Imagine if for instance they held a raffle for a .308AR here. You'd probably enter out of commitment, but still know your odds of winning anything are slim. Then imagine if everything on gunbroker were being sold by raffle. Lots of options to choose from and you could probably enter 5 different raffles for $5 total, depending upon the deal and just by number of entries, your odds are increased. Kinda like buying scratchers with the chance of getting a gun out of it. That's what they need to do.
