imschur
If enough people show their support for the need of the AR-10 to be compatible with Magpul PMAGS I will forward the info to Uncle Armalite. Sound off! <munch>
Robocop1051
At the very least, maybe it'll inspire Armalite to build a polymer mag.

Retired JM
Having a Magpul or TangoDown mag for the AR10 would rock! Especially if they bring it in at the same price point as the KAC-pattern .308 mags.
RayGun19
As I don't have the new catalog, anyone care to elaborate?
imschur
I found it here.
RayGun19
On the cover, but no where inside. WTF? I don't know. I think I'll stick with what I have. It would be nice. I mean, I'd just buy a lower and change my stuff over. But then I've got a lower an 11 magazines with no home.
98Z5V
I mean, I'd just buy a lower and change my stuff over. That won't work.
RayGun19
There is that much of a difference between how one magazine feeds and the other?
Retired JM
It's not so much how they feed, it's mainly due to the price of a pmag in comparison to that of an Armalite OEM mag.
imschur
guys read the tech note in the other thread. It spells out everything
pdc
Man! And I just finished building a Mega MA-10. I even contacted Armalite a year and a half ago about producing a more affordable mag. I'd have bought one of these if they'd existed when I was in the market. I was fun and educational to build though.
mineralman55
All along Armalite has said the AR10 magazines are "modified" M14 magazines. Exactly how are they modified? What is done to them to make them fit an AR10?
Robocop1051
Cut a slot for the magazine catch.Cut back the feed lips a bit.Get an AR10 follower.Modify the top of the mag spring to match the follower.Once you convert to AR10, you cannot convert back to M1A/M14
Retired JM
The follower in the mag has been modified to allow the BCG to hold open after the last shot in the mag has been fired. Also an opening has been cut into the right side of the mag to allow the magazine catch to engage the magazine.
