Robocop1051 Posted June 1, 2012 Author Report Posted June 1, 2012 This model just doesn't get enough recognition.
MikedaddyH Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Wow a DPMS with a decent Quadrail now that is a first. <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
Robocop1051 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Report Posted June 2, 2012 If that handguard were another 2"-3" longer, and had modular side/bottom rails, I would rank it as one of the better off-the-shelf rifles+ available.
hyrysc Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Got one of these sitting at home right now. I also have its 24 inch big brother, but it only see's ranges that have benches now. My Recon see's just about everywhere I go!
jeffreyC Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 I look at it and think what would I do different in building one. I have the sickness bad, don't I ?
hyrysc Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 This kinda sickness is fun! However, with that said, I really like this one as it sits. I think that it needs a bit of tweaking such as good optics (had to be an ACOG TA11E for me). I will put on an ambi-safety and an ambi-mag release, but after that, color me GTG.
Robocop1051 Posted June 12, 2012 Author Report Posted June 12, 2012 I posted this rifle as I am a big fan of its features. As fit upgrades?? Optics are a must. The ACOG is a tried and true option, albeit expensive. A BAD-ASS unit would definitely be in order, possibly an ambi mag release. I would have really liked to see a flip up tower sight on the gas block instead of a useless lo-pro that isn't even hidden. Otherwise lengthen the handguard another 2"-4" and cover that silly thing, it's wasted space... A modular rail would have beena nice option vs the heavier quad rail.
Magwa Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 I hate those quad rails they are uncomfortable and bulky i love the standard m4 carbine forgrip...
george_995 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 I would like to see the dpms detachable rear(kinda looks like LMT's) and front front fixed sights on this setup. The magpul plastic sights don't do it for me, tough rifle needs solid sights. :banana:rearhttp://www.midwayusa.com/product/873271/dpms-detachable-rear-sight-ar-15-flattop-matte?cm_vc=sugv1_536347fronthttp://www.midwayusa.com/product/536347/dpms-detachable-front-sight-gas-block-height-ar-15-lr-308-steel-matte?cm_vc=sugv1873271
