OK boys, I have a space in my house I can covert to a hidden room. It's only 6' x 9', any thoughts on if I can make this work? Seems like it should be sufficient, I might just have to be a bit of a minimalist.

In this 6x9 space where is the door?

Maybe something like this in each corner 12-Gun-Magnetic-Large_copy.jpg

Then in the wall space in between you could place shelving unit(s) for gun related gear. For more added storage build 24x24 cabinet to place under unit, height determined by ceiling height.

I have options.  Murphy door into it from either the hallway or the home office, or a (hidden) entry door from the garage.

WHOA!!!   That's HUGE for a hidden-room-ish setup!

Secureit gun storage.  It ain't cheap, but it's the most effective system out there, bar none.

Put some panels up on the walls, and you can stash a giant epic collection of guns into that space.  Reconfigure anytime you want, just move mounts and holders around on the panels.

WOW, brother!   :hail:

I'd go with the murphy door idea along with Tom's Secureit system. Those look pretty cool. Of course, me being me, I'd take it to the next step and motorize the door.

Yeah I was thinking just slat wall and hangers, since it's fully enclosed and hidden.

You guys, of course, are next level. 😁

Slat wall is cool for light-weight objects.  Slat wall doesn't like things that have weight to them.  You'll break that aluminum track right out of the wood-ish stuff on the facing, once you hang a couple AR-10s off it.

You could hang a Ford Raptor off the Secureit panels, if you mount them properly (backing material into wall studs).

Here's a guy who set one up. 14'x7'. Two walk in closets that were back to back. He tore down the wall between them making it one room. Did some electrical work,  flooring etc. Put in military lockers with the secureit wall panels mounted inside the lockers.

Need for lockers inside a room that's not normally seen or known about?  Always a good idea I guess.

They're not perfect, but for a small space i can stack them and get more into that small space with some security.  Gun Safes would be too bulky and restrictive on my available space.

I would recommend a steel security door and frame if you just mount on the walls directly.  A plain one that looks like any other door in the house.

A lot depends on if you have more long guns or pistols when it comes to selecting the size lockers you need.

Secureit makes 7' lockers but they're very expensive but they provide the best number of configurations to accommodate long and short together.
