unforgiven
What's to keep a person from changing out firing pins? The loss of jobs would be devastating to the entire area.I saw first hand what happened when all the steelmills shut down. The families were crushed as a result. That's how murder capitals become no.1. 98Z5V
Hate to say it Drew, especially in your locale, but...Neither of those states, with the legislation and laws they already have in effect, deserve to have major firearms manufacturers in their state. Just my 2 bullets... <dontknow>
jeffreyC
If I was running either one of those companies I would have moved it decades ago.I once worked for a company that moved and paid the moving expenses for any employee that was willing to move with the job, they rewarded loyalty and kept trained people at the same time. imschur
Well Ruger corporate HQ seemed to fit CT while Bill Ruger Sr was still kicking.I still think this is why Colt opened a new branch in FL.Hard to believe CT was the center of the US firearm universe. 40 years of democratic control has taken it's toll

Magwa
This is just more stupid people with stupid Ideas OK we have criminals are they going to buy a stamped gun? Hell No and if they steal a gun they will check the firing pin and just replace it or as criminals better yet do a crime and let someone else who bought the gun legally take the blame it is so stupid i can not even believe some donut head thought this up, I am so glad i do not live back east ... 392heminut
I could be wrong, but it seems to me that a few minutes of polishing the firing pin tip with some emery cloth would remove the micro stamping and would have no adverse effects on the function of the gun. Criminals are an enterprising bunch and it wouldn't take them long to figure this out.
jeffreyC
The real problem with this legislation is the $200 it will add to the price of each gun.The companies based in those states would no longer be competitive.

george_995
I think Bushmaster moved from Maine to New York as of the past couple years. That sucks for them. This microstamping BS idea has been around for awhile. :strokin:
