humboldt
Here in the CA outback I am glad to see this wonderful site! I bought a new made up 308AR and would like to change handguards. I have a CMMG lower with a DPMS 16" bbl. The receiver is a smooth side with no assist, deflector, or cover. The space from the top of the charger to the flat top is 9/16". I don't know if this is a "Sportical" or what to actually call it. The current guard is free float blk al about 7.25" long with apparently the nut built-in. I would like to replace it with a 12"to14" long free float guard, with a flush, and level with the receiver full length rail. Vented, low weight, and full of rail mount holes. I am not sure what guard will fit, & I don't want the most expensive. I already have a low profile gas block. Thank you all for any help. Robocop1051
Ahhh Humboldt. That's what what we Californians (especially us NorCal guys) refer to as the GREEN county! The only place in CA that stays GREEN all year around. I have family in Eureka, even dated a gal from Fortuna (a lifetime ago). Great place for bear hunting too, as long as you stay out of the GREEN areas and away from those crazy gold miners. I've hunted most of Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt, Trinity, Shasta, Colusa and Alturas county. I love being a NorCal resident. It's all them damned southerners (and SF) ruining it for us. Welcome to our site. I'm sure you'll get plenty of help on your build.
