Got the PRS and buttstock extender mounted today.  Also took the Redfield off of Freedom Machine, in preparation for mounting the 2-7x33 scope on the new Savage MKII FSS.  Should be quite the bunny sniper.  :sniper:

Should be able to lap the one-piece mount tomorrow and get the Vortex mounted, if nothing else comes up.

Once everything is mounted I'll post pics.

I can almost picture this...Your in a dark place rubbing your weapon and saying , My Precious, My Precious. But tihe only thing that vanishes is all of your money !  <lmao> <laughs>

Well if you didn't like that, we could use the thread title.

A little theme music in the background ,from the( Six Million Dollar Man ) . We can rebuild her...  <lmao> The worlds first bionic gun !

EXACTLY what I was thinking with the thread title, Mike!  <laughs>

If you look close brother Rene, I also installed a DPMS stock extender, which I had it on good authority allows clearance of the charging handle.  It does by just a little less than the length of the extender (so the CH would easily hit the cheek piece w/o it).

Will install a new CH also.

Getting ready to order some colors from Lauer...psshht-psshht-pshht...some for me, some for the gals (or Robo, however you want to look at it).

yeah, we both thank you. Although i'm glad to have found a training rifle for my daughter and something we can all enjoy all rolled into one.

Out of curiosity, when you lapped the scope mount, did you see any signs of  uneven contact that might indicate some misalignment of the mount as machined?

Nope, not a bit.  GG&G must have some kick-ass jigs to clamp those mounts in when being machined.

Like someone stated in the other thread, no matter who makes the mounts there is bound to be some little imperfection and lapping can't hurt.

Never worked with what RRA sells, other than mags and rifles.
