Bank of America Freezes Gun Manufacturer's Account

Recommended Posts

Bank of America has reportedly frozen the account of gun manufacturer American Spirit Arms, according to its owner, Joe Sirochman.

In a Facebook post dated December 29, Sirochman wrote the following:

“My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms...our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing  larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits  for further review.

“After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for further review -- her exact words were -- ‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.’”(emphasis added)

Sirochman also wrote that he told the bank manager that “they  have no right to make up their own new rules and regs” and that “[American Spirit is a] firearms manufacturer with all the proper licensing.”

He also noted that he has been doing business with Bank of America for over 10 years, but will now be looking for a new bank.

According to Unlawful News, this isn't the first time Bank of America has targeted a customer involved in the firearms industry.

McMillan Group International was reportedly told that its business was no longer welcome after the company started manufacturing firearms – even after 12 years of doing business with the bank.

I refused to deal with those shitheads more than a decade ago.  Military/Government travel card situation.  All TDY had to be charged to the card, and you were reimbursed all your travel expenses when the TDY was over, and the claim was filed.American Express had the contract for several years - they were decent.

BofA took it over.  They fucked so many people in uniform, it's not even funny.  I never used my travel card from them, based on how I think they SUCK.  I was told numerous times that if I didn't use the card, I wouldn't get reimbursed for travel expenses.  I took on the people that said that to me, every single time.  I always got reimbursed.  I never used that damn card.

It was a racket, and BofA fucked people over every chance they got.

When I was getting ready to retire in 2010 after 24 years in the USAF, the number one thing on my outprocessing list was getting rid of the BofA travel card.  I had so many fights with those idiots after TDY's and deployments, it was unreal.  It felt great to get rid of that card an any association with that clown bank.

We dumped them 20+ years ago.

My wife worked for them for 10 years. She never called in sick one single day, never was late, was promoted and was worked the "merchant window", etc. etc.

Then one day my Dad died, and I needed her.

She went to the manager told them her FIL had passed, and she needed a week off to help me out.

They refused. "Not a immediate family member"

She came home, I was crying, she was crying, and she told me what had happened.

She thought about it overnight, and went in the next morning and gave her notice.

They told her if she walked without the formal 2 week notice they'ed hold her paycheck for 30 days.

We couldn't afford that. So my wife worked through the time we dealt with my father's funeral, etc. We live in a small town, it was much smaller back then. Word spread like wildfire and on her last day at BofA she spent the better part of the day closing accounts for businesses who were incensed with that had happened. By her count BofA lost 25 business accounts that day. The Mgr. was freaking out.

I went in to escort her out that Friday, he starte to try to talk to me in the parking lot and I cut him off, and told him to go away, quickly, before I lost control.

He did.

One of the accounts she closed turned out to be her future boss, who hired her on the spot.

So...BofA can kiss my butt on a bright sunny day. I wouldn't do business with them if they were the last financial institution on the planet.
