Pappy1600 Posted January 26, 2013 Author Report Posted January 26, 2013 I am considering going for my SOT, $500.00 every year kind of sucks though.. but maybe worth it in the long run
Robocop1051 Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 I hope Rudolph shits in your stock next year. Why not just upgrade to a Mfg FFL and completely take all my dreams. :'(

Matt.Cross Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 <thumbsup> <thumbsup> <thumbsup> 8)I'm thinking about registering for it. It would make transferring NFA items much more quick, whether on my SOT or personal trust, it's still mine on either side of the transfer. Seriously thinking about it brother, I've got a lot of friends who could give a personal FFL buddy a lot of business.
Matt.Cross Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Do you have your FFL Matt? Not yet. <thumbsup>
Pappy1600 Posted January 26, 2013 Author Report Posted January 26, 2013 You need to to have your type 01 FFL before you can apply for a SOT just so you are aware.
Matt.Cross Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 You need to to have your type 01 FFL before you can apply for a SOT just so you are aware.I may need to further educate myself on this, but if I'm not mistaken, you can apply for an FFL w/ SOT status on your initial application. I could very well be wrong, so don't take that as an absolute statement.
Rsquared Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Special Occuapational Tax. It goes along with a dealers FFL for selling Class 3 type weapons.

I would try it, they way I see it if you can get your type 01 FFL first this is the most important one then all you have to do is apply for the SOT, but remember you will be paying $500.00 every single year before July 1st to be able to sell NFA firearms. And then you need someone thats willing to buy them, and having a letter to prove an agency would like a demonstration in order to get a Post 86 dealer sample.. Being in Law Enforcement I still wonder if I will be able to make sales to agencies to justify the cost of the SOT..
