I haven't seen that rail before. Definately looks good.
98Z5V
… here's a pic, past the parts, FDE with black switches for my bitches! <laughs> <lmao>For whomever it was on the previous page, looking for a lower parts kit - consider something here... You can buy a complete AR-15 lower parts kit, and that will get you about 3 parts that you can't/don't use - but it's closer than nothing. You'd still need to find a .308 AR front pivot pin, .308 AR rear takedown pin, and a .308 AR bolt catch. All the other AR-15 parts work. You'll get a trigger, springs, detents, the safety, and a mag catch. Now, the reason I bring that up is simple - right now on DSG Arms, this is out of stock, but it re-stocks regularly. They have the Armalite National Match lower parts kit, which comes with the 2-stage National Match trigger setup. This is a good trigger. Cost on the kit is $205. Hit the site, sign up for the email notification, and wait it out. For $205, you get almost all the stuff you need, you're only left looking for 3 items, and you get a good trigger. <thumbsup>

Now that I'm going with DPMS parts, will that Armalite trigger be a problem? Or is that just the barrel, BCG, etc...sorry if someone already touched on this but quick rereads on 4 hours of sleep and reading all this on an iphone doesnt help
edgecrusher
I was beginning to wonder about that one, or if you were just a t1000 and needed no sleep! Armalite lower parts kit will work fine, trigger too! I use them in all my ar15 lowers, they are the shit! Like 98z5v said, all you have to do then is get the last three parts and you are gtg <thumbsup>
jrtMA
I just checked out that parts kit...I definately think that would be worth the money. Great recommendation.Edge...I can function like a robot on little sleep but my mind is garbage right now. My son made sure of that with a 6:30am body slam and hug while I was sleeping. 98Z5V
One thing to always keep in mind, when building these beasts:If it uses an AR-15 part, or a part identical to an AR-15 part - then all those parts are the same, regardless of manufacturer. The trigger question is a good example - the AR-15 and .308 ARs share the same basic trigger setup. AR-15 parts are made to a design specification. In theory, they're all identical in fitment and function. In reality, you'll have some tolerances that are very close to the spec, and sometimes parts won't fit. That's mostly not the case, though. On the opposite side of that methodology, if it uses a dedicated .308 AR part, and it only works on a .308 AR, then you need to be cautious about what parts you pick up, and what parts you're looking at. They vary by platform.
edgecrusher
^^^^ yup! Edge...I can function like a robot on little sleep but my mind is garbage right now. My son made sure of that with a 6:30am body slam and hug while I was sleeping.I hear you, I routinely run 4-5 hours working 12 hr nights 7pm-7am…. Like I said before, let us know when you are about to buy, and we can affirm if it is going to work for you!
Powerman
Guys... what is so good about the Armalite bolt catch? I used a DPMS LPK. I don't like the little nub for the "hold" function. Curious about the Armalite since all of you seem to like them.

jrtMA
I took a photo below of the Fulton barrel that I plan on buying tomorrow... 18.5", .308 AR, Medium Weight, 1x10, Stainless, Match Quality, FA by Criterion. It's a good barrel at a good price. The only problem is that it comes in a gray and stainless steel finish, no black finish. They offer a light weight in black finish and that's it. The light weight kills it for me. I really don't want the gray or ss. Is it easy and cheap to just buy it and have it refinished in black? Should I just keep looking because of this small issue? Other black barrels I looked at are not much better and twice as much money. Oh ya, and a long wait for the expensive barrels too.The mega maten set has been sent and will be arriving to my FFL in two days. I will definately be buying the Troy TRX 13.5 TRX BattleRail tomorrow. I'll be going with Troy iron sight in tritium or KAC offsets but that will not be soon. Buy the sucker and I will help you sort it out if you need help.

jrtMA
Ok...it's a done deal than. I know there were options but wasn't sure if the barrel requires a more expensive treatment. You'd think that if it was offered in SS and gray, it would be in black too...enough of being a chick. I'll shutup now. <thumbsup>
98Z5V
Here's the exact same barrel you're buying, and it's the SS finish, not bead blasted and dulled down. It ain't as bad as you'd think.
Powerman
Ya, I really like mine. The brushed finish is really easy to touch up with a SOS pad. good as new. Bead blasted needs to be bead blasted again. Paint is just paint. Any flat black is good. I like my SS barrel. And do not delay.. buy it now. Fulton takes there site down all the time to catch up on orders. It's real hit and miss lately. But I had my barrel is about two weeks. jrtMA
What type of gas block do I buy with that barrel. Does it even matter really?
jrtMA
I have to say that the help on this forum continues to be great...all of you have helped me save at least $500.00 by pointing me in the direction of quality parts that are just as good as what I would have originally bought. This might actually get me to finish this before the end of the year, which I didn't think I could afford. Opinions on the SJC Titan brake....pic belowSupposed to really help with recoil which is what I want. I'm not to worried about the flash hider thing...paper isn't going to see the flash anyways. On a side note, why is that advertisement on the right for that Armalite AR-30 keep calling my name... :love4:

98Z5V
You can pick up the gas tube from PRI, when you get the block. It's not included, so you'll have to add it.
