imschur
robocops story jogged my memoryabout 20 years ago we were headed to Vermont to do some shooting. We were in the old ladies Chevy Blaser. I had every all the good stuff with me. My Colt Sporter, FAL, Calico, Remington 700 BDL, every handgun I owned. Fal and AR Mags were loaded. Im talking a few thousand rounds of assorted ammo .223, 7.62, 44 mag, .357 mag, 9mm, .22..you get the point. So we are going through MASS about 10mph over the speed limit when a trooper comes out after us. Now keep in mind my old lady has no respect for authority, especially cops pulling her over. I know there will be words. She knows we have guns but not to what degree so I calmly tell her to pull over and shut up. She snaps at me "Why" at which point I reminded her of my guns and ammo. She asks if they inspect the truck how bad will it be. I replied with "We will be on the evening news across the nation"She was good and bit her tongue. To this day it's the only ticket she did not fight.
texas30cal
I have often wondered what a trooper would think/do if I got pulled over like that, when we go to west Texas or New Mexico to see my dad we are "ready for battle" too. I usually have the Tommy, 308ar,1919, m1a, ar15, 30 carbine, a couple of 22's, several handguns and cans full of ammo. My wife says that if we ever get in a bad wreck she hopes we are ok and also that all of the cargo is not spread all over the highway. unforgiven
That's like the guy in the pickup truck that get's pulled over.Cop ask's if there are any firearms in the vehical " why yes officer I have a 1911 in my waist,a .38 on my ankle,a 12ga. behind my seat, and a AR in the back". The officer ask's "what are you afraid of"....." absolutely nothing officer". <thumbsup> <lmao>
planeflyer21
My wife says that if we ever get in a bad wreck she hopes we are ok and also that all of the cargo is not spread all over the highway.A guy on another forum related that very experience, upon return from a hunting trip. Rolled his truck and trailer in an extreme situation and rifles, ammo, fishing tackle, and everything else was all over the place.Rifles and rods were busted up but insurance covered most of it.Jon
bluzjamer
I dread this ever happening. Usually I have a good assortment of goodies when I head to the range. Never pack light. I used to go through Ma also but gave up all my carry permits (RI, Ma, Maine) due to too much BS and health reasons. Ma is a bad place to get pulled over with an arsenal in the back. I usually don't have mags loaded and ammo is seperate and everything is in cases. I never speed while packed and try to be careful. Murphys Law says things usually go from bad to worse very quickley for no reason. I'm an older guy so I usually don't get profiled and I drive a boring suv, no NRA stickers or beware the owner. planeflyer21
A lot of people do put stickers and advertise. Some people just advertise their dumbassery. Both are at fault here: Jon
texas30cal
The only time I have been asked if there is a firearm in the car was when I was pulled over and gave the trooper my c.h.l., he asked if I was carrying, what it was and if it was loaded "because a empty chamber doesn't do any good", but have always wondered how they would handle a arsenal in the back of the 4 runner. I would be glad to put up pics of the 1919, how do you put pics on here, I am almost illiterate when it comes to computers?
texas30cal
Nevermind, I told you I was almost illiterate! I just saw the site help section.
SPBCTS
I don't put any stickers on my truck...well there is one that says "Ski Sanger" on the back window, but that is it. There is no point in advertising anything. On a side note about this, it blows me away the number of cops who put the vanity license plate frames on their cars with the Call sign of their agency on them...And then send their wife and kids down the road in said car.I would never do that. It ain't like we are firemen, loved by all...
392heminut
to see my dad we are "ready for battle" too. I usually have I have often wondered what a trooper would think/do if I got pulled over like that, when we go to west Texas or New Mexico Nothing would happen in New Mexico. Here, your car is regarded the same as your house. You can carry anywhere in the vehicle, loaded or unloaded. If you want to drive around with a loaded AR propped on the seat next to you it's legal!
