Read something about special forces guys and beards too, the story I read seemed a tad exaggerated, and I'm tending to believe less and less of what I read on the net, or at least fall for it. I love my beard and I'm truly surprised I've been able to keep it at the length I have for the summer. But I can't do long hair on my head, it's gotta be 1/2 or less, so I guess I'll rely on my chin whiskers

Mine's normal on the left, gets all outta control on the right.

 

My FIL was telling me about a guy he worked with...his whiskers and hair went counter-clockwise, as you looked at him.  Grew a beard and had a big hair circle around his face.
