? Dunno why its gone. Watch for it to pop up. I havent seen their prices change much at all from instock to out of stock. Never more than a couple bucks. I just picked some up at lgs the other day for 29 bucks. Maybe since we r middle of nowhere or they buy alot but our lgs has only gon up 2-3 bucks a lb since last November

I was buyin and trading for stuff in Sacramento alot past few months. Lots of primers and powder traded for brass. Primers here are still 26-40 depending on what it is.

And i was comparing cost of reload 338 to factory 308 fgmm since quite a few shoot it showing its still reasonable to step up if you are willing. The deals are out there, just gotta be ocd like in looking. Im shooting every weekend so i keep everything up to stock and being me i only shoot 20% of what i load. Rest gets stored.

Nah, you're good.  Dirk started this junk, saying it could be loaded for 80 cents a shot!

We need to compare the apples to apples, for each round.  Like Factory loaded FGMM at $1.20 to Factory loaded 338 LM at $6.00.

Reloading, what's it take to get a "FGMM" round, and what's it take to get an equivalent 338LM precision round?

Fgmm eq. Powder:19c. Bullet:36c primer: 3c.

58 cents for 308 fgmm eq

Less than 1.20 for 338 fgmm eq. Bout twice as much reloading and 5x as much factory to factory

You will have to step up to the big boy powders like:

H4350 , H4831 , H1000 , win supreme 760 ,Imr 7828 & Retumbo.

Light bullets H414 & Win 760.

They are using 70 to 100 grains per round.

Retumbo is that pulled mill rnds and powder? My friend is trying to say its cheep because its used? I haven't had time to research what he's looking for?

I've used most of the ones I listed for the WSM rounds I load. And I am getting a little over 100 rounds per pound of powder. I would guess that 80 to 90 rounds per pound would be it..

I had some 300 wsm rounds with 74gr of H4350 that HURT ! And left a Limbsaver brand on my shoulder.

From The Lord help me thread:

Lol i have brass. Powder comes to about .40-.45 cents, boolits .35 cents and primer .03 cents. If more brass is needed its bout 1 a pop. So wheres this 7 dollars a pop come from? Haha

Ok, I will take the high price and say he told me $0.83

I ain't starting poop...just sayin...

Hell, at $1.20 I would be pretty happy.

That's scary when Mike asks that kinda question - he's got some other caliber in his head right now, I just know it.  <lmao>

No... The problem is Accuracy International make magazines short ! Barrett makes its magazines at stated caliber lengths.

Just want to have an accurate length so when I get around to loading ammo it fits the mags.

I have been wanting to do the 338 LM for a few years.
