shibiwan Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Wanna be my cerakote labrat? :D .....er... on 2nd thought, after looking at the Krpytek pattern, I think you're better with a dipped decal finish. http://www.camodipkit.com/ Edited February 12, 2014 by shibiwan

Ksgunguy Posted February 12, 2014 Author Report Posted February 12, 2014 I saw a how too guide here: http://point3airsoft.com/services/custom-paint-stencils/ but want someone other than me doing it
Robocop1051 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Cerakote is a spray gun job. If you want an intricate came pattern, like Kryptek, expect to pay well over $500 or even $600 dollars to have someone make the pattern for you. Hydrodipping is a LOT less expensive, and the detail in workmanship is a lot higher resolution.
Cali_Ed Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 I wanted to dip so parts but not to sure on how durable something like this is???
shibiwan Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 I wanted to dip so parts but not to sure on how durable something like this is??? As durable as the clear coat that is applied on top of it. Perhaps Cerakote MC-series clear....
Cali_Ed Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Any body know of a goo shop to send my rifle too? what kinda of goo? Green goo yellow goo? Brown goo? Haha jk
EasyEJL Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) yeah, I certainly wouldn't go through getting it cerakote / kryptek. Cerakote everything the base color, then hydrodipping over.or cerakote it the base color, and then use other spray can type paints for the accents. Edited February 13, 2014 by EasyEJL
Robocop1051 Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Easy is right. A base coat of Cera will ensure you gain all the benefits... still looking at about $500, unless you do some/all the work yourself.
shibiwan Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Hmm... I'm wondering if you could apply it on a dry coat of cerakote THEN cure the cerakote. The activator is solvent based and turns the print sheet into "almost paint" which will bond to the uncured cerakote and become part of the cerakote before it's cured.
