Hogan .308 build - Questions, please help

Hi Guys I am new to the site and completely new to AR builds. I just got married and for my wedding gift I was given a Hogan .308 striped upper and lower. From what I can find (please correct me if I'm wrong) Hogan will take the DPMS style parts. What other brand parts are interchangeable? I would like a basic list of all the parts I need to complete my build. Case in point if I buy a Lower Receiver Parts Kit will I still need to buy other components to have a top notch trigger? I am not looking for name brand because I will do the research  into what is the best parts I want to use. This will be a slow build because part of the deal on this gun is she buys me parts over time. Thanks in advance for your help.

Also if a thread already has this info I will look there, but I did search this website and did not find it.

Who gave you a receiver set as a wedding present?   Was it your in-laws?  Pretty cool.  I asked for a gun for a graduation present and my mom looked at me like I was crazy.

my girls are getting one for there grad present.

Warthog My new wife is the one that got it for me.

No budget parts will be bought on what I want not price.

For this one I think 18-20" but the second 308 I think a 14 would be cool

Ill put on top this one maybe backup irons

Plain I don't need a bunch of flash.

I dont know about Hogan, but I have found it always best to call the manufacture and ask comparability for any AR 308.  I just did my first 308 build after building many AR15s and had some issues.  The guys on this site were great at helping me pin point the problem.

Hoagan is a split-off from POF...both are local companies out here in AZ. Something about one of the guys from POF leaving to start up the new company due to some disagreements but that's just hearsay, not sure what really happened..

Stick with the DPMS compatible stuff and you should be good.
