  1. [quote author=planeflyer21 link=topic=4155.msg37487#msg37487 date=1345346419 We should start rifle carry...you start in SV and I'll start up here in Marana (don't trust TPD). Liberty with the Eotech and a vest of mags. I'll start in Naughton's Heating and Plumbing, walk in and say "Is this sign for real? No handguns allowed?" <lmao> Jon
  2. I have run across some shooters with the opinion that the 155 gr is a better long range bullet than the 168 gr and if you want to improve on it you need to go up to the 175 gr. They use the 155 gr in the International Palma match because of a weight restriction in the rules, but as in most competitions that results in greater development work being done. The ranges for the Palma match are 800, 900 and 1,000 yards.

  4. I will have a rifle length take-off soon, that I would give away complete with barrel nut.
  5. Wouldn't the Lewis Machine and Tool Modular Weapon System do the same thing ?
  6. One thing to note, the DPMS LR-308 and the KAC SR-25 use different barrel nut hole spacing, the PRI barrel nut wrench has pins for both, one set on each side.
  7. Shorter barrels are stiffer for the same thickness, so accuracy usually improves. With iron sights on an AR the sight radius will be the same. A fluted barrel is stiffer than an unfluted barrel of the same weight, not the same diameter.
  8. Fortunately my coffee was not quite done when I read the part about the left handed receiver or I would need to clean up. <lmao>
  9. Since AR's lock into the barrel extension, and the barrel assembly will get tightened to the receiver each time the rifle is reassembled, it probably will not matter.
  10. CMMG has a very bad reputation for poor reliability. The DPMS .308AR's are better quality than their .223/5.56 models.
  11. With all the Executive Orders the presidents use Congress does not seem to matter. Each president, Republican or Democrat adds to the previous decrees, rather than removing them. I think the fix is in and no politician of either major party is doing our freedom or rights any good. Maybe Ron Paul and Rand Paul, but really they are not Republicans.
  12. Botach is like that, if you can find the part somewhere else order it. UBR's are still listed as in stock at the link I posted. I have bought from him, first rate service.
  13. I sure hope you are not expecting some sort of 12 step program here. This is just a bunch of enablers who will gladly help you become rifle rich, but money poor. Poverty is contagious here. And by the way, welcome ;D
  14. Another shotshell loader you should look at is the RCBS Mini Grand, it uses the same powder and shot bushings as the Hornady shotshell loaders. I know some shotgunners who swear AT Mec loaders.
  15. Voted FOR the NDAA I'm not so sure that we would be better off than with Sotero, with him at least more people will not be lulled by a false sense of security.
  16. Chrome BCG price ? Barrel gas system length ? Barrel weight/thickness ? Gas block adjustable or not ?
  17. Ryan voted to make the Patriot Act permanent >:(
  18. New reloadable noncorrosive $105 per sealed 200 pack $103 per 200 for 5 or more http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=7240&dir=18|830|848
  19. I wonder if using some plastic dip coat, like used on tool handles, on the spanner would prevent the scratches ?
  20. Many shooters obsess about removing all the copper, the real problem is the carbon. Look at it this way, carbon under heat and pressure becomes diamond. Diamond is most commonly used as an extreme industrial abrasive.
  21. Have you looked in the want to sell section of the forum ? There may be something close to what you want there. Changing a few parts is easier than building a whole rifle. And you have fewer parts to wait for especially back-ordered or out of stock for 6 months+
  22. Another option for a handguard is the Precision Reflex Delta http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=54519/avs%7CManufacturer_1=PRECISION%20REFLEX,%20INCxzzx/Product/AR15-308AR-Delta-Free-Float-Forearms
  23. This will end up being personal preference, but I use the Ergo grip 4005 http://www.ergogrips.net/item-detail.cfm?ID=4000 Everyone who has held mine says that is what they want on their AR.
  24. Mine are only large, not NBA player size.
