  1. That kind of stock is a poor choice for a gun with a top safety, you have to take your hand off the grip to move the safety.
  2. Now taking pre-production orders for 6.8 SPC drums. I might buy one, even though I don't have a 6.8 1) It would be an act of defiance against the high capacity mag ban people. 2) It would make me build a 6.8 (at least it's not a gas tube roll pin)
  3. I have not used it, saw it in my research on adjustable gas blocks. The pin is pushed in to release the lock. I may get one later, but for a .223, so lower priority right now. Thanks for reminding me of it, I may need one when I change handguards.
  4. The pin is for the locking mechanism, the hex screw next to the pin is the adjustment.
  5. Mine showed up in the mail today, I thought the mailman was going to hurt himself putting it in the mailbox.
  6. I want them, but I will wait until they make them in the .308 version, that way I can have them on all my AR's. Maybe some of the early buying frenzy will settle out by then.
  7. There is one on a well known auction site, current bid $132.50 with over 22 hours to go. I am coming to see Robo's point, I could start to take an intense dislike to some of you. <lmao>
  8. The reason I knew about tungsten being heavier than lead is from reading about some crooks plating bars of tungsten with gold and selling them as gold.
  9. I thought heavy buffers commonly used tungsten, in which case lead would be lighter.
  10. I do not think it should be that tight, usually they do slide on as you have seen before. If you can you should measure it, it is possible that the gas block or barrel is out of spec.
  11. I have no personal experience with the Akdal. I did research on it when I became aware of it. I was looking at getting one but lack of aftermarket magazines and parts made me put that off. There is some information and interest here; http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/forum/149-mka-1919/ I do not know if I will get one soon, not that I think they are bad, but I became interested in other things at this time.
  12. Putting the gas block in the freezer will make it smaller, that will not make it fit on easier. Putting it in boiling water will make it expand, and will evaporate off quickly so it will not cause corrosion.
  13. Most people have abandoned that method because of poor or inconsistent results.
  14. The Akdal uses an action based on the Remington 1100 I suspect due to the slower recoil impulse of a shotgun and heavier construction that the polymer receivers would last longer.
  15. That is why I recommend the Hornady annealing kit, it comes with Tempilac, also three holders for .223 base, .308 base and belted magnum base.
  16. I would not want the two of you to get blisters on your trigger fingers, so out of selfless concern for you I hereby volunteer my services as a test firer.
  17. It is not a request for bids, but asking if the makers think they would be able to do it, that should not take too much time to figure out. That requirement for 36 inch length means it will be a collapsible stock.
  18. As I understand it, the quenching mostly serves to stop the spread of the heat any further down toward the head of the case.
  19. The Hornady set-up is much less expensive, and if you do not have that much brass it would be fast enough.
  20. Those grapes must be sour, just as well that they are hard to reach.
  21. A better choice, a DPMS in the hand beats a RRA later. Now to stock up on PMags before the cybersecurity bill is passed.
  22. Just when I thought this conversation could not go any further down hill, I was proven wrong.
  23. WC846 and others currently in stock here; http://www.gibrass.com/gunpowder.html No connection to me, just passing info.
  24. Now the prosecutors are saying the "notebook" is a hoax. http://news.yahoo.com/james-holmes-prosecutors-notebook-story-probably-fake-204301179.html
