  1. clarification: 1 XXL of #1 and 1 XXL #2
  2. I'm in for 2 XXL black Ts
  3. Pick up 500 of the 308 and 1000 of the 5.56. I have the small rifle primes (CCI #41) But still need the CCI #34s. Midway notified me the Berger 175OTMs were in stock and was able to pick up a couple hundred of those. Just like the AR parts, things are slow to come in.
  4. Just a question: can you use the JP Enterprises silent buffer spring assembly in a pistol application? This tread has gotten the thinking cap on. I just happen to have an upper and lower looking for a meaning to be put to use.
  5. I love the 1911s also and have 6 of them, my last purchase was the SIG Scorpion. But I carry the XDS .45 with the 7 round mags. Gives a little more grip length. I have not replaced the sights from factory, nice to know the pain that could be ahead.
  6. I agree. I prefer LC for the gas gun and Lapua for the bolt. But Lapua is pricey and you can find it. The only reason for the Lapua in the bolt rifle is the amount of reloads you can get out of them. One of the high power competitors is on his 15th reload. But remember he is annealing with every reload which makes a huge difference on long they will last. You can get over 8 reloads on Lake City if you do the same thing.
  7. Mine is the 5 incher light rail desert tan. Took it straight to the range, I like it, shoots great.
  8. Well now I know I'm not alone, nice to know the sickness has spread. I just received my Mega Arm 308 MKM today just in time to take it with me to the LGS I seem to visit every Friday. Well the high power guys had just left and left me with a couple of the AR boys. Had to keep one eye on the MKM while having the coffee and a donut. Now I have not gotten to the display cabinet to see the resent arrivals Bill (Bill knows I'm into the High power, ARs and 1911s) calls out and produces the SIG Scorpion saying this is what I need next. Like the sickness just pulled me in and it left with me. Like I needed a 10th 45. So how I don't think anyone here is going to cure me and I am single too. Sick but happy :auto:
  9. Have you checked Bruno's?
  10. The group I ride with gets together and we take the Harleys over to a little town called Greenfield. A vet paints a very large rock every year (the same one over and over) in military tribute. Then it's off to the vets cemetery and I visit some of my fallen brothers I serviced with. When I was young my father would take us there and we would place flags. But now I actually know them not just names on the stone, means a hell of a lot more now.
  11. I lived in the UK many years ago and got to see the Isle of Man TT. Insane speeds on public roads, I never would do that myself but amazing to watch.
  12. I am still having trouble getting reloading items. One of my coworkers stopped by my desk and said he has a connection for primes in stock. I was able to get 5000 small pistol, but still looking for CCI #34 and 41 primes.
  13. I'm in for 2 XXL shirts with either of the logos and a few stickers. Just need to send the check.
  14. 308 with the flag background on a T-Shirt +2 And a zapp for the rear window of the truck.
  15. Well if it all went bad he would know how a bug feels.
  16. I spent 30 years working on fighters all over the world and MANY different types and not all american. I would do it all over again if I could.
  17. Yes the human body can't take what the jets of today can dish out. Missles can now make turns that pull 10 times what the pilot can. Just think how much less is needed in an aircraft when you DONT have to put a pilot in it and all the systems you can remove from the structure as well. The seat in the F16 is reclined 36 degress which does help a huge amount. But even with the advancements made I have still had to help pilots out of the jet because they couldn't walk. The jet just kicked the crap out of them and they had little left. Hey, I even pulled 9Gs and didn't black out, there was a tunnel closing in fast so it would not have been long before good night.
  18. My first AR is Spike billet lower and a Vltor billet upper and the fit is very good. But since every project is Mega Arms billet matched sets. I did not find an issue with number one, I have just choosen to go with and matched sets. And the Mega Arms product is the best you can get IMO.
  19. That was very informative to say the least. I would have thought Iowa would rack better because of the CC laws, stand your ground and the civil suit laws here. Pretty much if you don't have a record and attend a class you will be granted the permit. Proir service members only need the DD214 and you get a CC on the spot. It amazes me the people that carry here. You just need to spend some time at the LGS and watch who buys. Yes getting a Class 3 here is pretty much hoping the governor says but that is not a big deal for me.
  20. I have been stationed at DM many times over the years and at the time were flying the A10, very quite. But just down the road you have the Air Guard base flying the newest F16s and being an ex crewchief on those for many years I can say those are very loud. Don't see the difference.
  21. This week in the Des Moines Register printed an article that pretty much stated there is no support from either party to change the current permit to carry laws in Iowa. Over the last 2 years 160,000 application were filed with 99.6% being approved. I don't know how Iowa ranks beside other states but that means over 12% of the population legally carrys. It took me 15 minutes to get my permit a few years ago from the local sheriff's office which is very close by.
  22. Powder is low here and ammo, but Magpul 30rd mags they have and AR are the rack, priced up a bit but not way over the moon. One shop here just received 40 Glocks in last week. Like many I have quite a bit back ordered from more than one site.
  23. Like many others on the forum, I have more firearms than I would be able to carry. Yes they are not all for me, but would be for people I trust and want to be protected if SHTF.
  24. I really like him and how he conveys the message. <thumbsup>
  25. Myself and friends have used Bob Cogon at Accurate Plating and Weaponry in Al. He knows what he's doing and is great to deal with.
