Color on them looks fantastic. What was the cooking method?

That looks tasty. Having a grill again finally, this might be a good weekend for some pork butt. What’s your go-to rub on that? I really like the oak ridge dominator and secret weapon mix…always looking for something else to try out though.
  3. No…that moves the heat shield back in forth about an inch or so to either side. It seems like a waste, but maybe I’ll find a good reason to shift that around. There is a port over there on that side to hook the vacuum to and suck out the box without opening it all up. We’ll see if that actually works in a few more cooks.

Ricky. And he’s finally home. That was a little more of a rodeo loading him up to bring him here than I had hoped. Not quite as good as Tom and the deer, but I saw sky for what felt like a long enough time to watch Titanic, and came down square on my back and my head at the same time. I could feel the landing in my teeth. My dad insisted on keeping two ropes on him, but I think that’s what freaked him out. Once it was down to me, Ricky and a halter…he did OK. Plus side of two ropes was after he bolted and knocked me on my ass, we got him wrapped up on a tree again pretty quickly. I look forward to grilling this bastard. He’s in the last pen he’ll see before the freezer.

    Good BBQ preparation starts early.
  6. You might actually have to start trying.
  7. Great pics and great story. Sounds like you’re still right on his ass 98. How did the scores break it down between the two of you? Hopefully I didn’t miss that above…sorry if it’s been stated.

Good looking ribs. I’ve been without a pellet grill for so long, I’m pretty sure I’m going to overdose on BBQ this week. Your post reminded me to take ribs out of the freezer.
  9. I have the same thoughts about the light inside.
  10. They put a light in there now, and a clear panel on the top to see in as well.
  11. I think that’s what they used to call it. Now they have Ledge which was about the Boone size and Peak that used to be the Bowie.
  12. It’s the GMG Peak. About the same size the traeger was.
  13. Decision made and home…now to fire it up.

  15. That looks like it I had a knockoff set of the $500 sights I wanted. Let me know how they look…I’ll have to find those.
  16. Agreed. At least it ain’t a dodge…. (where did the flame suit emoji go?)
  17. Mikey likes it!
  18. You sure it wasn’t just the Ford emblem?
  19. I just found that bolt in my truck this weekend. Let me know if someone needs it.
  20. And not broken. They do NOT like rocks. At all.
  21. Have a bow for every member of the family. It’s a good skill to have.
  22. It can have air and fuel, but is the ratio right?
  23. Thanks. I think a cover for just the controls would be good to put on these things. Camp chef had one. Just a black plastic piece that hinged over it.
  24. As our good friends the Eagles would say: You can check out any time you’d like…
